My name is Matt. I recently moved to Las Vegas and lost all my money playing craps. Now I am learning poker.
I play on Full Tilt, normally .02/.05 and .05/.10 NLHE.

Hey Matt,
Welcome to the forums. How is the rake on Full Tilt at those levels? For some reason I remember it being high...around 10% or so, but I'm not sure if that has changed. If it's that high, you might want to look into moving to PokerStars until you've built up a NL50 bankroll. They have plenty of action and 5% rake.
Also, post some hands here if you have any questions about strategy.

rake is 7%
I used to play on stars... I lost $600 to bad beats on river (mostly 2-3 outers). I know that it's variance. However, I didn't play many hands and got killed a ridiculous amount by ridiculous hands.
What is the rake at NL50?

NL50 is 5%. It might now sound like that much, but that 2% can mean the difference between a winning and a break-even player (or worse). Plus, Full Tilt allows 27% rakeback. Stars has the VIP program, which is mostly beneficial to higher stakes players.
