If this is your first visit to the site, introducing yourself is the best way to ease yourself into the community. Things to include somewhere, some how in your introduction:
- Where you're from (generally)
- How you started with poker and how long you've been playing
- Your preferred stakes, games and poker interests
- What brought you to our community, what you hope to get from us, and what you hope to provide
Optional (some, all or none): name, age, gender, other hobbies/interests, relationship status etc. heck throw in a picture. Why would you provide these details to a random bunch of gambling lifers? Well; if you're single, 25, with no other interests, and you also posted that you are here to improve your game, we'll expect more from you that someone that is 32, married with three kids, and works 10 hours a day at a job he loves (aka me).
Yes we are just an anonymous Internet forum, but everyone who spends much time here know each other as real people. Mostly odd people, but people just the same. If you're one of those odd members I'm talking about, and you've got this far into a “sticky” post, and haven't yet properly introduced yourself here, feel free to let it out in a post of your own.

Introducing Yourself
"People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don't believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and if they can't find them, they make them." - George Bernard Shaw

What's up everybody? My name is Steve from Michigan, and I'm new to these forums. I just turned 18 last February and started playing at my local Indian owned casino. I cashed in my first tournament taking home five hundred dollars, and I've been playing in local tournaments ever since. Looking for somebody to transfer me money on Poker Stars because it's almost impossible as a player from the states, but if not I'll be happy to go about my game at the live rooms around here.

Hello
Hi My Name is Will Im from lawrence MA and ive been playing poker for a little over 2 years now. Poker has been one of my favorite past times for a while now and what really got me into it was a magazine article about some of the pro's. Ever since then ive been following the game faithfully and getting better at it and gaining more understanding on it. ive really grown to love this game because it give me a kind of hope that i cant seem to let go of. My main goal is to become a pro and make a living doing this, it sounds like a dumb thing to say but its been a dream of mine ever since i started playing. Im very gratefull for being able to up my game and gaining a good understanding on how to take down pots and make money at this. Ive joined this forum because i kno there are alot of other people out there with the same aspirations i have and this is a place where i think i can develope greater skill in my game. It always helps to recieve feedback from people who have experience and can feed me the knowladge that i crave. I kno i will grow alot more here and i dont kno why i didnt join sooner. I hope someday my dreams will come true and when they do i will always be thankfull for anything i gain in this forum. WillPWRZ!!!
