Table Image
I wanted to test Harrington's thoughts on table image, so I did this...
Note:I had 10 bucks to screw around with, and didn't care if I lost it, I was just having fun.
I waited until I felt someone was bluffing for sure so I could overbet the pot and make the other players think of me as a lunatic/donkey(which may be accurate) at minimal risk, so I could over bet the pot the next time I flopped a monster.

Table image at .05/.10 tables? I think a lot of players at .25/.50 and even higher would call all ins with 2 pair to be honest.
It may have been in the back of his mind that you bluffed but I don't really think advertisig is worth it at that low level, im sure your initial bluff would have been called if he had even top pair top kicker.

I think table image only really counts at higher levels, or in big tourneys after all the fish have been knocked out...people have the telly on, the kids screaming, the missus whining, plus they're surfing ebay, looking at porn, downloading music, etc...so clever plays go completely unnoticed, bluffs will be called whatever your image.
I really notice it in things like $5 SNGs...you can sit there until level 4 or 5 folding every single hand, then you make a massive raise, or even go all-in, and half the table calls you with all sorts of marginal crap.
Anyone who had paid the slightest bit of attention to the preceding play would not call with a marginal hand against a player who folded every hand until level four and was now suddenly coming in for a massive raise!!

Jiffman,
That is not necessarily true. If someone didnt enter a pot until towards the end of the second level I would probably give them respect. If someone didn't play a hand for 4 levels and then started raising it up, I would think, he is probably waiting until the blinds go up, so he can try and steal them trading on his tight image.

Okay....well you have really made me think...
I've always thought most players would say 'he hasn't played a hand for ages then he comes in for a big raise he must have a good hand' but of course the good ones are also going to think 'well he's just stealing on his tight image cos the blinds are getting high'....and the only players who will paid enough attention to notice that you've folded every hand are the good ones...so....
......Hmmmmm!
