Default Out F***ing Standing

PokerStars 0.25/0.50 Hold'em (10 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is Button with , .
UTG calls, 3 folds, MP2 calls, MP3 calls, CO calls, Hero calls, 1 fold, BB checks.

I only limped because I figured I had the odds to draw to a decent hand...did I?

Flop: (6.40 SB) , , (6 players)
BB checks, UTG bets, MP2 calls, MP3 calls, CO calls, Hero calls, BB folds.

Picked up the flush draw and I have the pot odds to draw.

Turn: (5.70 BB) (5 players)
UTG bets, MP2 calls, MP3 calls, CO calls, Hero calls.

Still have the draw, still have the odds.

River: (10.70 BB) (5 players)
UTG bets, MP2 folds, MP3 calls, CO raises, Hero 3-bets, UTG calls, MP3 folds, CO caps, Hero calls, UTG calls.

OMFG, Cap it...CAP IT...

Final Pot: 23.70 BB

Results in white below:
UTG has Jd As (two pair, jacks and twos).
CO has 6h Ah (flush, ace high).
Hero has Kh Th (straight flush, king high).
Outcome: Hero wins 23.70 BB.

While the results say this was a great hand, should I have played (or not played) it differently? comments that aren't results oriented.

Raise that flop from the button, you have 12 outs twice and can get a free card on the turn if you miss. Other than that nice hit.

Not kidding, you really raise this flop with no pair? The rationale is to drive out the others I take it. My thought here is that I want people in the pot when I hit my flush.

Seriously, I wouldn't have raised the flop. On a side note I did just order LLHE and should get it by next week.

Hell ya, raise this flop, You have the secind nut flush draw, two overs and an ISSD, all of which may be good, plus since you're on the button, you may get a free card, but with that turn, I nmay be betting again to see what they do.....

No, you raise because they will call and you want to build a pot. You have 9 outs for the flush and 3 more for the straight giving you 12 outs. You're almost 50% to win the pot (in pot equity terms, you "own" about half the pot). Your one extra bet induces the 4 behind you with money in the pot to call. With your 50% pot equity, that means you "made" 2 extra bets with your one riase.

Rule of thumb from SSH - if you have a flush draw and there are 3 bets or more behind you on the flop you should riase (unless maybe there are MORE than that left to act and you want to keep them in).

Gotta agree on the raise here, you have position you need to use it and maximize your winnings. It's alot different when you need up in these situations from the blinds.

If you count your OC as 1.5 outs, 9 for your flush and 3 from your straight that is 13.5 outs. The only person you would possibly lose aswell here is the BB, and he could be folding anyway.

Nice river though
