Monday night I was playing a live $1-$3 session at the Horseshoe. I'm having a tough go at it and end up down to $46 from my orignal $200 buy in. I've already decided to go home should I go broke, rather than re-buying.
I button raise with a KQ of spades and get re-popped and another caller of the raise. I ship in with 33% of my chips in the pot already and beat AK and 1010 with a river flush. I go on to win a few more pots and end up stacked for about $300.
I have a player to my left who is a super nit. The only pot I've seen him play to the river in over an hour was with JJ. He limped them in, called a pre-flop raise, and then check-called all the way down on a 9 high board. When he tabled JJ I couldn't believe that he had a hand that big. This guy is obviously bad and won't be raising without a freaking monster hand.
I'm in the SB with 36 of hearts. 3 players limp, I complete the SB, and the supernit in the BB raises to $10. All 3 limpers call the small raise and I push $7 more out getting 6-1. When I call I assume this guy either has to have a big ace, or high pocket pair, more than likely QQ+.
Flop comes K 10 7 with 1 heart. I have completely bricked this flop. I check, and the nit bets $10 into the pot of $50. All 3 other players call, so I figure I can call getting 9-1 needing runner runner. A truly awful awful call.
Turn comes 4 of spades. We now have a rainbow board, and I failed to pick up a flush draw, but I did acquire a gut shot. I check to him and he bets $10 AGAIN into a pot that is now $100. All 3 players call and now I'm getting 15-1 with my gutshot. I toss the $10 out knowing the payday that might await me should I hit my hand.
BAM! 5 hits the river. Before I can even decide how much to bet, the supernit bets $15 into $150. Dealer looks to me, and I say "I guess I check" in a playful manner. The raiser laughs a bit and I know he has a big hand, more than likely AA, a set of Ks or AK. Action folds to the button who calls the $15. I'm guessing he either has 2nd pair or a weak king. I look to the raiser and smile at him as I grab $120, enough to put him all in. I move it out there and with very little hesitation he dedicates the rest of his chips to the pot. Button folds his inferior hand.
I show him my hand and he thinks I was bluffing with 6 high without seeing the straight. The dealer almost misses it as well so I have to point it out. I just shrug my shoulders and smile. Oops!
I'm such a donk. But hey, if he's going to play that bad I guess he deserves to be punished.

Max buy for the $1-$3 game is $200 unfortunately. There's a lot of us players who are petitioning for a change to a 100BB but in, but management feels that it would hurt the $2-$5 game which struggles to stay alive anyways.
And no, I don't typically sit with that small of an amount. I probably should have just picked up at 15BB since my heart wasn't really in the game at the moment anyways but nobodies perfect.
