i'm a pretty nitty player live but this was me doubling up in style. getting an opponent to put 102 big blinds into the pot with 2nd pair is a rare treat on a sober tuesday night. before i get flamed for this slowplay i'd like to add that this sort of play is only smart against someone you have a solid read against who's likely to provide 3 streets of bluff value when called and not raised. this guy was obviously donkleading 2nd pair to me and although i was hoping for A8 any reraise was going to blow up the action so better to let him stack-off bluff i say.
1$/$2 10 player NL Live.
Hero - $204
Villain/MP2 - $290. likes to tank then talk rubbish with big hands so i'm not worried about the set here.
UTG calls, MP2 calls, Hero (AsQc) ($204) raises $12, all fold to UTG who calls, MP2 calls
Flop [Qh,8c,4h] - ($36)
UTG checks, MP2 instabets $20 so i figure he has crap, Hero calls $20, UTG folds
Turn [Qh,8c,4h,2s] - ($74)
MP2 bets $50, Hero calls $50
River [Qh,8c,4h,2s,Jc] - ($174)
MP2 goes AI, Hero snap calls $122
MP2 shows [8s,Kd], Hero scoops $416 with just a lonely top pair!

Well played sir considering the villian.
I think I would have put him on a flush draw, or a flush draw/gutter ball hand and taxed that ass on the turn though.
Probably would have lost the fish at that point, but oh well.
