I went to Foxwoods last weekend, played 1/2 and was down $160 (a buy of 60, 2 buys of 50) and put another buy in of 50 on the table, and was doing pretty good, I got that 50 up to about $180, so I was down less than a buy in for the session. To the right of me was a calling station, and I made what at first seemed like a mistake and tried to bluff him.
Me: Kc Jc UTG, raise to $10
(walks to the villian in the SB)
Villian:call
(pot $22)
Flop:
7c 7d Ah
He checked to me, I took a look at him and figured he didn't have a 7, maybe a weak ace, I figured he would lay it down if I bet enough, even though he was a calling station he might lay down a hand like A 2-A 6. So I bet $20 to try to buy it, he calls.
Turn:
8c
(pot $62)
This gives me a club draw, and after seeing his reaction after he checked, I figured my K or J might be good if it hits as well. So I figured 15 outs, 1 card to come, I was about a 30% chance to win, but I am trying a bluff after all, so i bet $35. He made a remark like "I should have gotten away on that flop", but calls nevertheless.
River:
Qc
(pot $132)
I made the second nut flush. Nut flush is unlikely, because that suited ace probably would have raised me on the flop. Again he checks, this time i bet $50,figuring he wouldn't call much more than that. Everyone at the table is puzzled by what kinds of hands we both have. He took a while to make his decision, but before he did, he said, "this is a bad call, heres money for your 4th of july party". I turned over the flush and won $232. He didn't show his cards, but later he told me that he had pocket 10s, and just couldn't get away from it. Turns out my K or J would've been good after all.

Bluff to the best hand

Nice hand sir.
I'm curious if you would have fired a 3rd bullet on the river had you missed your draw or failed to make a pair.
This villian played his hand awful. He could have found out where he was at any point in this hand. A pre-flop re-raise certainly would have either made you
A. Lay your hand down
B. Give it up on the flop
He could have also came out and bet or re-raised to discover your hand strength on the flop. He had a gut feeling he was ahead, but was unwilling to make a bet or play to find out.
His bad play was your good fortune.

Yes his bad play certainly was my good fortune, I'm not sure if I would have fired a 3rd bullet had I not made my hand, Bluffing is a part of my game I certainly need to work on. I made a mistake in trying to bluff him in the first place as he was a calling station, and he had been tricky against me in earlier hands attempting to checkraise me. ANd I totally agree, I would have layed it down in an instant to a raise with a flop of A 7 7
