Even then I'm sceptical, I've seen regulars get it in with AK first hand in higher buyin tournaments as well.
I'm not saying I do it anywhere near often and yeah it can bust you out but thats the risk. On the flip side it can get you 80% of the right opponents chips with no show down.

I do it when I see:
An opponent my my chips or less but no less than 70%
An opponent who I have seen do something like this 8000 chips pushes with 6000 but goes away to an allin that put his remaining 2000 chips in.
A heads up situation or near heads up.
The ability to raise in a very similar fashion to the example percentage wise.
A safe flop (if applicable)
