I might be misunderstanding you Beav, but he pushed first.

In catching up with his stack I'd called an allin from him with AQ where he had 95s and I was fairly certain he was pushing almost any Ace and certainly any pair (he'd also pushed with 22 and I'd called with 99). We'd been heads up for 20 minutes plus at this point and he seemed to be frustrated that he hadn't finished me when I was nearly down and out.

Had I been first to act, I'd have raised 2-5bb with JJ and hoped for the reraise or the call to evaluate the flop. I'd even been folding small pairs to preflop raises of 10x bb where I felt he had genuine strength as the blinds were still small relative to the stacks.

Got to say though Beav, I'm very interested in any perspectives in heads up play at the end of these tourneys, it's not a situation I find myself in often and any insight could be worth a fortune

Doh! Yeah that is a definite call, pushing with Ax is pretty silly.

probably the best practice for heads-up on the end is the heads-up SnGs, the blinds are too high in normal SnGs.

I have only been heads-up at the end on MTTs in Freerolls on UB, and I had a major chip advantage the first time.

I've started polaying heads up on PS, doin alright at them too, you really add a huge diversity to your game playing those and 2 table SNG's, and 100+ man tourney's...

Interesting thoughts about the Head up SnGs.

What are the buy-ins?

And are there any points of ettiquette about stalking the fish? I imagine it's profitable to identify the weak opponents and seek them out.

Hmm, well I guess there's really no definition by which to identify a "fish" Bob, I've founf that the proof is in the pudding, and to give you an idea, I had a 3:1 chip lead on a guy 3 times last night until he busted me out with his 64o...amazingly enough, the blinds were only 50/100 at the time, and He pushed...amazing...terrible play from a terrible player, the guy was playing 3 HU matches while we were playing ours though. The 5 + .25 HU matches are fun b/c you start off facing one opponent with 1500 chips, and advance with 3000 when the other table finishes. So really it's only 2 wins to make the money. There is only 1 payout for 1st place. I find that the higher buy in HU matches are more difficult...it's not that I play that different, it's that most of the guys playing them will multi table, play them all night without playing anything else...

Hope that provides some insight?

PS and UB have them for $5.50 on up.

Doyles room has even cheaper ones, but most are turbos.

Kind of hard to hunt fish in these, since they fill so quickly.
