Default Pub freeroll victory - ship the $150

Yesterday my friends convinced me to go play a freeroll at a pub in Glebe (an inner-city suburb of Sydney). We live in the southern suburbs of Sydney so the journey into the city takes about 30 minutes on the train or a little bit longer driving.

I couldn't be bothered to catch the train so I volunteered to drive myself and four friends there. We ended up getting lost on the way there, no thanks to my stupid friend who thought he would show us an "awesome shortcut".

Once we finally got there, I was very impressed with the pub. It was a really nice place and they have a happy hour every afternoon so drinks were very cheap. Of course, I was the designated driver so I couldn't have any beers

Eventually, the poker tournament started and I began my quest for victory. There were 40 people playing and the whole tournament ended up lasting about 3 hours from start to finish. I absolutely dominated the final table, even though I had an average stack to begin with.

The funny thing is, I'm an unemployed uni bum at the moment so I needed the money more than anyone, hahahaha. Ship the $150!!!!

I think this was the crucial hand for me, when there was about 14 people left:

Blinds 400/800
Hero is BB with

3 folds
CO calls 800
Button folds
SB calls 300
Hero checks

FLOP:
(t2400)

SB checks, Hero bets 2000, CO folds, SB calls 2000

TURN:

(t8400)

SB checks, Hero bets 3000 and is allin. SB calls 3000

RIVER: (t14400)

Hero shows (a Full House, 2s full of 5s) and wins 14400
SB shows (a straight) and loses

hahahahahahaha. I luckboxed on the river and took 'er down

Nope, NPL. It was the AB Hotel in Glebe, by the way.

Ah ok. APL give decent cash prizes but have bred a pub poker expert mentality that gives me the shits. I only ever turn up now to donk out in the first two blind levels then challenge the pub experts heads up with 100bb stacks (unheard of) for $50.

If I didn't suckout on the river, I would have been out of the tournament. Instead, I doubled up and never looked back from there. I would say it was fairly important
