Default 'Cos this is how I roll

OK, it was a live game (what's that, then? you ask) so obviously no hand history, but I'll attempt to make this recollection as entertaining for you as possible.

Ah-hem.

'Twas a dark and stormy night...

OK, in seriousness. It was nine-handed, which was alien to me, because my friends are unreliable bastards and we usually play 4-6-handed, and it was a whole new crowd, friends of a friend. Only one donk amongst them, and at least four real solid players. Tough crowd compared to my usual "OMG ITZ SUITED" players.

£10 buy-in, everyone recieved 20,000 in chips. Blinds started at 100/200 and went up every 20 minutes.

I sat tight for ages, watching some plays. I picked up one highly obvious tell on one player- when he bluffed, he'd shield his cards, when he had the goods, he wouldn't. I was 75% sure of this trend. I picked up a few pots from some good flop play, and then there was an extreme 3-way takeout between 3 average stacks.

Board:

All three went all in after some serious flop betting.

Player one shows for a Full House, player two shows for quads and finally player three shows for a straight flush! Unbelievable hand, and it gave that one player an extreme chip lead as we went six-handed. The stacks were roughly thus:

1- Tom* = 70k
2- Dick* = 40k
3- Moi = 30k
4- Harry* = 30k
5- Rumplestiltskin* = 10k

Blinds were 750/1500 with a 300 ante. So I was doing alright, but with £50 for first and £30 for second (third place broke even), and me earning £80 a week, I wanted the money.

A few hands in, I get on the BB. Rumplestiltskin pushes all in on the button in a limped pot, trying to take the almost 4k pot to add to his ever-diminishing stack. I'd have probably called with any Ace, I figured he was stealing, but I'm glad it was Anna 'cos he flips over . My AK stood up, I think I got a straight to his pair, and that put me just into second place.

Then Harry lost a pot to Tom, and we were playing three-handed, none of us with anything to lose, as Dick pointed out. But I wanted the win, dammit!

Tom- 100k
Me- 45k
Dick- 35k

Second or third hand of the three-handed action I get in the BB. Tom makes a mini raise on the button, which Dick folds to and I call.

Flop:

TTP on a rainbow, straightless board. Wicked. I check, Tom bets 15k, I call.

Turn:

Tom moves all in, I beat him to the pot. He shows and the river is , doubling me up. In the very next hand, I took out Dick with vs his . I made top pair on a board then rivered the nut flush.

So now we're heads up, and I have 115k to his 65k. We play for a while, and I build it up to 140k vs his 40k.

Then, I get . Blinds are 1500/3000 with a 1000 ante. He calls from the SB, I raise to 10k, he calls. Flop is , and he pushes all in. I call, and he shows . Then rivers a 9. Wanker.

So now he has 80k and I have 100k, it's more even. But I'm sure I'm the better player, and I have more chips.

Then he utters the fantastic words: "Wanna do winner-takes-all? I could do with £80**."

Done and done. He must've miscounted his chips and thought he had more or something, heh. The hand after he says this, I look down at , the "Daniel Craig."***

He raised to 12k, and I called. The flop came , and he checked, I bet 15k and he pushed all in. I considered what beat me, and decided he wouldn't play Q5, Q7 maybe but I doubted it. I was only worried about QQ, 55 and 77 were just way too unlikely. So I called, and he had for TPTK and the nut flush draw.

Turn/River:

£80 please. Ta very much. A week's wages in four hours? Not bad at all.

He was totally kicking himself for making that ridiculous deal. I considered giving him his £10 back, but he was such a smarmy cunt I decided to let him suffer.

*Names changed to protect the innocent. Or something.
**Third place took their £10 already.
***He got a straight flush with this hand in Casino Royale, hence...

Holy shit, if that QQ v 88 v JTs hand was for real that is by FAR the sickest hand I've ever heard about. It even beat's durr's runner runner straight flush v quads (besides the money involved).

Congrats on the win, and remembering so much detail, lol

Scout's honour. I had that hand and folded on the flop. If it was I could well have gone broke.
