SNG's
Didn't want to post in the Glory Forum, but I played 3 9-player SNG's (4.40, NL) last night. First timer, mpre of a newbie thing. Damn things are addicting. 1st one, I came in 5th, I had AQ, guy had AJ. A came on the flop. He bet, I went all in, he called, J came on the river.
The next two I came in 2nd both times, so I was pretty happy. I had a great chance to win the 3rd SNG.
But all in all, I was quite happy, made a little change.

I love the SnGs too. I seem to be a consistent 3rd place finisher, though sadly I play in 6-handed games that only pay the first 2 places. Oh well.

The 9 player, $4.40 ones on FTP pay $10 for 2nd and if you win you get a token for a 24-2 tourney.

yep i love the 6 handed ones ($13 on pokerstars) and i was placing really consistently, like 3/4 times i played them...that was all i played for a while cuz they were making the most money for me. but on some advice from people here i'm back in ring games and actually that's been really good too...actually made more money/hour. sngs are really fun though cuz you get the satisfaction of winning first or whatever. but then, making more money's pretty fun too:-)

I ran out of $$ on Noble Poker (where I was playing my SnGs...cheap. $5 SnG costs $5.25 to enter. $21 1st place, $9 for 2nd) and dumped some money into PokerParty and was horrified by the cost to play a SnG (not to mention the behavior of the other players). So I went into a ring game to try to earn my $6 back so I could cash out...and won more than I ever have. Which admittedly isn't much ($20 or so) but I only played for maybe 45 minutes.
Anyway, not sure if it was beginner's luck or what, but if they trend holds, I'll probably play ring games to get the funds to play SnGs...

That is what Im doing. Playing the ring games, and then using the winnings there for sng's. The 3 times I have played, the people have been real cool. The last one I played, the guy and I were chatting it up. Real laxed environment.

I wasn't a fan of playing SNG's on FTP, I found the players were really, really annoying in how they played. I'm no expert but, I do know it comes down to how you play your cards, not the cards you get. If you bet anything most people will play b/c I don't think they understand, (like chasing a straight to the river with one card showing in the flop and calling 2/3 pot bets and such) I'm not sour, but even in the rings, very loose play. Maybe the players are better than me, so I switched to PS, and I'm finding far better success on that site both SNG, and ring...my 2 cents...not complaining lol!
I like PS 1 dollar and 2 dollar Tourney's very fun for the cost.

It is very loose on FTP. 2nd SNG, first hand, I get dealt KK, Im the SB. One guy goes all in, I call. I think he had Q,J. I won, doubling my stack. But there are usually 2-3 crazy ass all-ins in the first few hands.
And the ring games, people have no clue. In the 2-3 weeks since I started I have tripled what I started with. So something is working...hopefully it keeps up.
