I am going to work and adapt my play and try and play a different style. One mistake I make is not buying in for the full amount, no longer. Thanks for all the help and advice guys!

I had the same problem a few months back. I would sit at a $25nl table and get tricky, trying creative moves/bluffs etc. I'd see these guys call down with K high and then go tilting, firing crazy bluffs into these guys that I've just seen call down with air. I'd move up to a NL100 or NL200 and have no problem, suddenly it was alot easier for me. The problem I think was I was trying to play a "higher stakes" game than the table I was at and maybe you're suffering from a similar thing.

At the micros you just play simple ABC poker and try and stay as un-emotionally involved as possible (being a good player you will suffer alot more bad-beats than normal as you're generally getting your money in ahead). Since I've been able to adapt my game I am happily crushing NL25. There's a great chapter in Sklansky NL theory and practice about multiple level thinking and how thinking "too much" against a weak opponent can lose you equity.

If you play cash, I'd recommend you start properly rolled (I do 25 buy-ins at NL currently) and just grind away at NL25 or something until you know you can beat them (and I'm sure you will).

As for cash vs tourneys, I'd play the one you enjoy the most or the one you feel more comfortable with. That'll help for when you get a horrendous downswing and need to stop yourself tilting.

The play there is more what I experience in person at my local games, and before the end of the session I was sitting at $169. A good chunk of it thanks to a guy pushing all in with AK when I had AA in the bb. Now the question is what should I play. Ring games I hate the micros, it's rediculous, and quite frankly I am a better tourney player. What should I be playing?
You cant beat the micros because they have really bad players?? That makes absolutly no sense

I guess maybe I mispoke. At the micros people will call almost anything down because of the small amounts, then hit on the turn or the river. I still stand by what I said, that the higher limits are easier because there SEEMS to be more respect for raises and reraises. Of course I am probably wrong, obviously I know nothing about poker.

No your definitely right. They play different at lower limits than higher. It just requires a differents style.

Anyone who can't beat the micros because they bluff and get called down by weak hands is not a good poker player. If there's a fish in $200NL - I don't try to bluff him. If I am fortunate enough to find a table full of fish - I don't bluff any of them! Trust me I would be far happier to find a $200NL game that plays like the micros, than you would to find a micros game that plays like $200NL.
