I put him on QQ or JJ. His actions fit this. I was wrong and it worked well for me. I'm not gonna call the river with Kings full here and leave cash on the table. If he has me beat, I say "nh" and rebuy.

I'm posting this and still playing on 2 screens and these converters always ignore all ins like the bitches they are, so it's taken me about half an hour to post this. I think that's enough time. I'm goin' south everywhere and goin' to bed. I've lost $250 of it. I don't even know how. I remember hitting a straight draw a few minutes ago. Probably got caught with my hand in the cookie jar and folded.

I put him on a full house or at least the worst a straight and if he had a good Ace that gave him a full house, he wouldn't have bet so much on the turn. That's why I thought QQ or JJ. He was either hoping I had an Ace against his Queens full or he wanted to end the hand and take the pot with JJ. That's why PF raising is SOOO important with big hands. You can better isolate the grouping of your opponent's hands and make better decisions.

I mean, I probably just call here, given that I thought the only hand that fits the action and can call you that you beat is AJ (has the straight). AQ/AT are real possibilities here. Of course, the guy turns out to be about the biggest donk possible, so WTF do I know. . . .

You have some kind of read on villian?
maybe this isnt why alex did it, but this is why i would have overbet.

the villian probably has something. if he has aces full, we lose anyway. if he has quads, we lose anyway. however there are lots of hands the villian could have that would JUST call a small re raise on the river, but not push.

a donk with a straight or A is obviously not folding because they are a donk, but even an idiot fears AK or something here and would just call. but, even though he bet huge "well i have a straight icant fold!"
a small hand, like a bluff or pocket 9's would fold to a small raise anyway. so why not raise big, make the same money from a lower boat, lose the same money from a bigger boat or quads, and make MORE money that we would have from a straight or tripps?

even a solid player might just call a small raise with QQ or TT, fearing AK or something. the big raise extracts the most value from the hand, and im pretty sure thats why he made it.

I was hoping he had QQ and put me on AJ or JJ for the Broadway. An overbet to a board like that is hard to look like a bluff. But it did.

EDIT: OK. Maybe it didn't look like a bluff, but he looks like a genius to himself, I guess, if I have A9-A2 or 99, or such. I wasn't scared of Aces in the least bit. I was playing this hand as if I was unbeatable, otherwise I wouldn't have slowplayed. I never slowplay unless I've got my opponent down to 2-4 outs and it depends on the opponent.

so i was basically right, because he is calling anyway but there is a chance he will play it safe and wont re raise.

fyi i play the hand basically the same way, including the big river bet
