Sat I Got 5th in the $55 SuperSat 10k

Just found this site so I thought I would gloat.

Sat morning I was really bored. My girl was in one of those (you aint getting any) moods cause I stayed up late playing ring games on like 5 sites.

Anyways I Was bored and not really in the mood to crank up the ring tables so I noticed that a $5.50 Rebuy tourney to the $55 10k Gauranteed was gonna start soon. So Ofcourse I joined and had to finish 9th to qualify.

I qualified easily and figured playing a tourney would be a nice break from my usual sat nite of drinking beer and playing 10 tables at a time.

So the tourney started and ofcourse people were playing TIGHT. So I started playing loose. The tourney had almost 200 players I think it was like 190. So I was stealing alot of pots, slowly creeping my chip count up.

By the time the tourney was down to 100 players I was like top 20 in chips. Considering I need 27th or better to cash, I thought cool easy money. Well then I Started catching some cards. Next thing I know I am like first in chips with 30 people left. Now they gotta DEAL with me.

So I started bullying people. Ofcourse this throws people off thier game. It worked , I was second in chips when the final table started.

Now the blinds are creeping up, so you gotta loosen up a little. I got pocket Jacks on the button and raised to match the pot. SB goes all in. I call considering its only double my bet, and 20% of my stack. Ofcourse he has AK and hits a king on the river.

No big deal, I am 3 rd in chips with 6 left. I bust out the 6th place dude the next hand when I limped in with JH 9H. And flopped a flush. He went all in and I called.

SO now we trade chips for about a half hour. We were all pretty even. Then I get dealt pocket 4's on the button. Ofcourse considering I had bought a few pots from the button with hands like 2/8, 44 was enough to raise.

So I raised to match the pot. The SB (Same guy) goes all in. I had seen him make some pretty loose calls with hands like K T off, A8, etc. So I figure its a race. Considering this guy had won the last pot he had me in chips. So I call. He flips over AQ off. So its a race. The flop was blank. The turn was BLANK. But that damn Queen hit on the river.

No biggie, $600 for 5th when I could of tightened up and got top 3 easily. Doesnt matter between tournaments and ring games I am up over 5k since sat.
