Default How the hell... 1/2 Limit hand

I only got 102 hands on this guy in PT. But at the time, even fewer. So I'd imagine he doesn't have so many more hands on me.

    Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (10 handed)

    Preflop: Hero is dealt ,
3 folds, Hero calls, 2 folds, Villain calls, Button calls, 1 fold, BB raises, Hero calls, Villain calls, Button calls.

K so PF call is questionable, but table was pretty loose so I went for it.

    Flop: (8.50 SB) , , (4 players)
BB bets, Hero raises, Villain 3-bets, Button folds, BB folds, Hero calls.

Couldn't've asked for a better flop . Thought about capping but didn't want to scare him.

    Turn: (7.75 BB) (2 players)
    Hero bets, Villain calls.

Jackpot! But he calls... What do you put him on? For the way this flop went... just calling is weird

    River: (9.75 BB) (2 players)
    Hero bets, Villain calls.

    Again with the call...

    Final Pot: 11.75 BB

I'll include the results so you can tell me bout how he played it...

    Results in white below:
Hero has Ac 9c (flush, ace high).
Villain has 8d 8s (three of a kind, eights).
    Outcome: Hero wins 11.75 BB.

Comments on my play and his?

    Cheers,

    Mike

I can understand the otherwise fine part...but you need to read the cap the flop part several times...TPTK with nutflush draw is a powerful hand...what are you afraid of here...

As far as your comments on the turn, who cares what he has...you have the nut flush and the board hasn't paired...you should be glad he's calling at this stage because nothing can beat you...

I wasn't afraid of anything on flop. Well not true, I was afraid of scaring him off and was hoping on getting more money on turn. Maybe if that was my intention, check raising woulda been better on turn.

I didn't just post this hand so you could comment on my play fellas. Honestly wanted to know how you felt about his play. Seriously nobody minds that he didn't raise the turn? I feel I shoulda gotten more action on at the very least the turn.

    Cheers,

    Mike

His play makes sense to me. He jams it with the trips on the flop, then calls it down because he's scared of the flush.
I'm CDO. It's like OCD, but everying is in order just like it should be.

Not sure why you are asking about his play. His play was not wrong, maybe he jsut plays a little scared and overvalues pairs PF. Given the flop action, I would be fearing A9s myself, but I'd have to call it down.
Marm is back, maybe. Been off for 3 years. Rusty as Hell.

    Good play...

But I would have played it differently I think...

If you cap the flop, he will be more willing to put more bet on turn and river if you hit, cause he can put you on a lower set.

the reason to cap the flop is that you have great equity regardless of his hand. if you dont improve on the turn your equity drops to the point that if you do not have the best hand, your bets are costing you.
