Default OK, help with continuation bet

I'm sick of being in this situation and not really knowing how to play it:

    $25 NL ring
Raising hand PF, say AK or AQ. I make a standard raise in an unraised pot with 1-2 limpers calling for the flop. Flop comes with rags, no drawing hands, etc. So, lately I've been putting in a continuation bet between half-pot to pot size bet.

What's my turn play against a call on the flop? Regardless of position, if I check, it's weak and opens me up for a bluff. If I bet, then I'm faced with folding to a re-raise (and lost my bet), or facing the same decision on the river.

Granted, I've seen the benefit of taking down the pot on the flop with a continuation bet, but I don't know if the gains in that situation are worth the risk of the extra money on the table if I get called.

    Any advice?

Normally I'd check and hope he checks behind. If he bets out I'd normally fold.

Continuation bets are pretty much semi-bluffs, so if you don't win the pot right on the flop you have outs on the turn or river. If you don't hit the turn and opponent shows strength fold if you're not getting the odds to call.

Note: Was going to only post a link to Beav's continuation thread and say "I feel like Marm".

No prob... I wasn't really involved with the first one, so I wasn't sure if it would help or not.....
