Good laydown?

I was almost positive it was a good laydown until the very next hand when he did this...

I'm pretty sure I would have called on the first one without seeing the second one....

Really? You don't think a min raise from the UTG and then and a re-raise signifies strength? The only hands I'd be making that move with are AA/KK.

AJ, 1010, AK, AQ.
I don't see him doing it with AJ/AQ and I'd be surprised if he pushed all-in with AK....shit, AK of spades would push on the flop.

First hand - I'm with Marm on this one. A-J9(s/o) could easily have made the same bets depending on how sneeky/aggressive/loose UTG was. You quite possibly layed down the best hand here.
2nd hand - why the BB wasn't jamming the pot with 2 pairs is a wonder to me. This guy a fish?

You're playing scared. The pot is 22 and it costs you 11 to play it out to the river. Even if you have no reads on the guy at all, it's still an easy call. Let's go through some hands:
AA, KK: Unlikely, he put in the minimum raise pre-flop, which may be an elaborate trap, but probably not.
AKo, AKs: more likely, but you're still ahead, only against AK of spades are you 50/50.
jj, 66, 33: possible, and you're way behind. I'd only fold if you know for sure he has this.
AJ, KJ, QJ: most likely, and you're way ahead (3-1 ahead)
Jx: very likely, and you're way ahead (4-1 ahead).
6 3, j 6, j 3: not likely, you're behind, but you almost have the pot odds (2.3-1 behind)
bluff: possible, you're ahead and likely to stay that way
Since you have no read on this player, let's assign equal weighting to all 7 card groups. In two of the groups, you are way behind and don't have proper odds, in one of them you are behind but almost have your pot odds, and in 4 of them, you are way ahead. I'd say it's an easy call.

I'm putting the villian on AKs spades specifically. If he had AA or KK he would have reraised you more preflop for value. His reraise was specifically to play his hand against one other player. He hooked you in and got the big ole FD with 2 overcards. 14 outer and he pushes.
Trons: "...be a winning person first."

So very true.You're playing scared.
I'm playing beyond my BR because the site I play at only has +$0.25 tables and I only have $150 in my account (I can't afford to put in the $1000 I should.) I know what you're all going to say, I probably should move to PS and the lower limit tables. I really don't know why I haven't yet, I guess I'm just used to playing pokerroom.

I definately push... you have almost 2:1 for your money, and you will win that hand more than 33% of those stakes!
I really need a read on this guy to lay that hand down.
Even if you are behind, you can still hit your Q... wich is not a lot of outs, but considering pot odds, you have to make that call. It's not like it's an MTT and you are on the bubble after 10 hours of play.

whoa, a $1000 bankroll for a 25 cent game? Where'd that come from? I've always read it's good to have like 200x the big blind, which would be $50 here.
