Gotta say I hate your open-limp on the button, that is terrible, raise it up or fold.

From the action it looks like your villian is slow-playing a set, but I really like your re-raise on the turn. He probably donked the turn for 1/2 the pot to take away your flush odds. You have top pair a flush draw and an inside straight draw. Your opponent moved all in with what appears to be a set, so you have 11 outs to win ( 8 spades (discount Ts) and 3 non-spade 8's).

So your turn call looks okay just going by the odds, you call 8.50 to win 42.75, which you will do about 1/4 of the time.

So you played the hand well, except for pre-flop.

I would be looking for reasons to fold that hand once you get called on the flop.

    PF.. i probably fold..

flop: nice bet.. but when its called down like that, u have to slow down on the turn.. especially when villian wakes up on the turn.. when villian calls over potsize bet like that on the flop hes either drawing (could be a OESD with 2 overs - KQ anyone?), or he has a set or slow playing 2pair, or is just afraid to raise it up with J and a higher kicker.

when villian wakes up on the turn like that, right after he check-called my over potsize bet on the flop.. i am convinced that he has either J with a higher kicker, 2pair, a set, or he hit his OESD playing 89.. either that or he made a loose call on the flop with middle or bottom pair and made 2pair on the turn.. so with that being said, i figure here that my J is no longer good, and that i can only win if i draw out to the flush draw.. therefore, if his turn bet is small enough to give me odds to chase for the flush, then i will call it.. otherwise i fold..

RIVER: if i miss the FD, and Villian leads out again, then i fold.. if he checks, then i check behind him and take the free showdown, expecting to lose.

Using a odds calculator, im getting good on my money making that call against a set, 2 pair, a J with a higher kicker. The only - EV would be the 89 straight, which i geuss poses the question; should i assume people at these limits are going to call against odds?

after you are called on the flop, i probably get off it.

The table had been quite loose with hand selection PF, and i figured J9s wouldnt be a bad hand to see a flop with on the button. Geuss i was wrong

you only had odds for the all in because of your bad raise.
