This hand happened about two days ago so I dont know exact numbers but I think I'll be close:
18 ppl left out of 331 (NLHE MTT), blinds - 1000 - 2000
I have about 30k in chips and table leader has about 35k. Play at the table had been tight, action exploding when two premuim hands met.
I get JJ two off the button, I make it 6000 to go hoping to just take down blinds which are obviously pretty subsantial at this point. I get a call from the SB who has about 32k. Flop comes 10 6 7 (not sure exactly, rainbow rags tho). Sb leads out for 2k, I raise to 6k figuring my jacks are good. SB re-raises to 12k. I almost timed out deciding what to do here. I didnt have much of a read on this player, so I assumed him to be solid to get this far. I figure he would've re-raised pf with kings or rockets so I discounted those. I figure I'm looking at QQ, JJ (very unlikey but possible) trips or possibly a lower pp putting me on AK AQ. From the reraise I'm not really scared of trips. My gut said QQ and I could've escaped with a reasonable 28k there but I just called. I realize now I should have folded or raised but I was running out of time and just hit call.
After his bets on the turn and the river I had 8k left and he indeed flipped over QQ. Should I have laid this down after the re-raise? I've been working on playing more agressively but it backfired here. Comments?
Luckily I caught some cards and ended taking 2nd and $350 (doubled my current bankroll!!!!) Also my highest MTT finish to date.

Higher overpair?

i like the raise pf and i like the reraise after the flop, i'd say its a 50/50 call situation, some ppl will make the laydown. At the point in the hand where he reraise me, i would be thinking that i haven't been at the table long or don't really have a good read on him, but would he really play a10 that strong(which would be the only plausible hand for his weak flop raise) and i think the answer to the question is no. The reraise sends off bells in my head saying, trips, two pair, or overpair. Another consideration would be my weak read and i may consider the option that i got outplayed this hand, but i'll go to war again with a stronger one next time and fold based on my weak read. I think when you look at the situation when your not in its easier to say that you should have folded it and thats what i'm going to say, but the reraise suggested a fold on the flop. since i've been in that situation i know how hard it is to fold even though you know your beat. And when you do fold next time don't say that you folded a big pocket pair, that only sends the message to the table that you'll make big laydowns and can be bluffed, just let it go..
