Default Do you think my read was right here?

First of all, I NEVER NEVER limp with As. The only reason I did here was beacause I was away from desk for a minute, came back to see pocket As and no time left to make a move. I barely had enough time to press the call button.

Then when the villain bet out and everyone folded, I figured I'd try and play this one a little cagey. Once the flop came, I got a bad feeling. Suddenly it felt like pocket Qs and I figured I'd check to him to see what he does. Once I check-raised him and he pushed all in without blinking, I felt my read on him of having trip Qs was good and I folded.

good fold - it'd be hard for me to do it....with Aces. Definately a good fold. if he didn't have QQ then he played it right, but i'd be willing ot bet he did

1st off pre-flop is terrible, if you said you made a mistake and didn't raise then why didn't you just re-raise him when you got the chance.

Gotta say flop play is bad too, I'm gonna guess that he had alot of things that you would beat, KK, AQ, KQ a flush draw or maybe even a frisky JJ or TT. The only hand that you would lose to is QQ, which is doubtful since most players at this level will never bet the nuts.

I guess what scared me the most is that I would play QQ the way he did in that situation. I think it's a lot more suspicious when someone bets big before the flop and then doesn't bet when they are checked to, it just screams big hand. And the fact that he pushed all in without even hesitating set off alarms for me as well.

In hindsight though, AQ of clubs is another hand he easily could have had.

he could have also had QT, 62, AK like any 25NL player which makes this a fairly easy call

So many times I've been in this exact same situation, have made the call and gone broke. I'm trying to work on my big laydowns, easiestly the weakest part of my game, and I felt like this was a good one. There was no reason to suspect the villain in this case was playing junk because what little I did know about him indicated that he was a pretty solid player.

From reading your previous posts I would say this is the worst read or play you have made yet, no offense. IMO this is an easy call, but if you were confident in your read you shouldn't have gone against it and you didn't which is really the only good thing i see about this fold.

he raised 50BB and you are folding after you've invested 32BB already?? seriously man you need to call this. it's not like he's pushing for THAT much more. if he raises 125BB we'll talk about folding but definately not for 50BB more in a 65BB pot

if he went crazy like that with the nut, he should learn how to slow play!

I really feel you had to call, he probably had AQ or KQ... considering you limped call preflop, he definately think he is upfront.

I would have called it in a heart beat!

    no offense.
None taken. That's exactly what I'm here for, criticism.

Perhaps I'm too weak when it comes to a re-raise. I do find myself folding to re-raises more often than not unless I'm holding a really strong hand.

Although, like I said above, this just felt wrong. I've been in this situation before, gone against my instincts and ran into the hand that I was afraid of.
