Any suggestions for this hand? It seems to get me in some trouble sometimes and I'm trying to figure out why.
Is it a hand you're raising with from EP/MP/LP?
Are you calling a raise with it? A re-raise?
What if you flop a pair of As? Do you want to play it aggressively?
I know it's a pretty generic question and I'm sure table/player conditions are the biggest factors in deciding how to play this hand but any advise would be appreciated. I'm just now learning the hard way how ugly a hand A/J can be and I'm wondering if it's similar with A/Q.

I will limp with AQs. I will fold AQo pre-flop...got into too much trouble with that hand. Just my two cents.

I like AQ in LLH, I will raise it from any position except the blinds, and against certain players I will 3 bet or cap with it. Post, If a Continuation bet will work, I will bet it all the way to the river, situationally of course. Its a hand that can get you into trouble, but at LLH its a good hand to get good value out of.

AQ is a strong drawing hand. On Loose tables theres little value in it. You can extract a little value with multiple callers in late with a minimum raise- but set your exit limits carefully- avoid betting more than 60-80% of the pot by the river on a weak flop. Although this is a hand to put down.... look out for flush draws.. you can suck someone out with it and get a little more value.
On tight table with gap, hit the blinds hard (4bb) mid/late. Just aim for top pair-You got to know your blind players on this sort of table. If its a very tight aggressive table I tend not to limp in anything in early. (Ha.. I just stacked one of my adversaries on the cryptos by playing K2 suited off BB calling a raise- he was furious
-moral -- know the blinds)
AQ is tricky.... Play it a few thousand times in all positions -you'll get the hang of it...

There is a reason that most pros don't play AQ....Against AK you're a 3-1 dog.. ouch.

Yeah, because they're weak tight

well, i didn't mean it literally, of course they're going to play AQ, but they will never play it strong like AK.

Why not? Its relatively the same hand, board dependent, and in the right situations, its identical.....
