Preflop: Hero is Button with,
.
UTG calls t50, UTG+1 calls t50, 4 folds, CO calls t50, Hero calls t50, SB completes, BB checks.
I figured there were enough people in the pot to give me some decent odds.
Flop: (t300),
,
(6 players)
SB bets t50, BB calls t50, UTG calls t50, UTG+1 calls t50, CO calls t50, Hero raises to t550, SB folds, BB folds, UTG folds, UTG+1 folds, CO calls t500.
Here's my mistake. I was so concentrating on taking odds away from the flush draw that I simply bet the pot after everybody had callled the min bet by SB. I feel I should have been AI on this one because after I realized how little I had left myself, I was so pot committed that I had no choice but to call an AI bet if a flush card hit...Other then that, I can't find anything wrong with the hand.
Turn: (t1600)(2 players)
CO checks, Hero bets t130 (All-In), CO calls t130.
Here it is, My scare card. I knew he was probably checking the flush, but I figured there was also a chance he could be on an over pair, 2 pair, possibly even hit his trips on the flop. I knew he would call my bet, but I felt I didn't have a choice...a check here would have killed me because there is no way he wouldn't bet on the river regardless of what he had.
River: (t1860)(2 players, 1 all-in)
Final Pot: t1860
Results in white below:
CO has Ad 7c (straight, seven high).
Hero has 8h 7d (straight, nine high).
Outcome: Hero wins t1860.
Ok...I feel I screwed up the flop bet and possibly not giving him the opertunity check down the whole hand. I figured if he had the flush I was dominated anyway, not much I could do...I also think this is a good example of how I need to pay a little more attention to my stack size in relation to my bets...If I'm going to leave myself pot commited, I need to be AI when I know I have the best of it. Either way, I made a couple mistakes but so did he...
This brings up another situation where I've found myself guessing lately. I know I suck, we can see that by my HH's I've been posting. Since I tend to make my moves at the wrong time, is there a better way to time things? I've been basing my moves on my reads, but it seems sometimes that's not good enough. Is this something I can expect to improve with experience?

You played this correct. You denied the odds. He made a terrible call. You're supposed to win this hand. If anything, leaving a little chips probably helped him call you because he may have thought that you didnt have the nuts. Don't get too worked up. You won and you were supposed to.

You raised to 550 leaving 130 in your stack? Just push the flop if you're going to do that.
Rest of the hand looks good if you're only doing this about 40% of the time preflop.“There's no sense in being precise when you don't even know what you're talking about.” - John von Neumann

yeah bonch, if you read my comments on the hand, You'll see that after I made the bet, I realized I had left myself way too few chips to do anything with.
This is a problem I have. pre-flop, I use the scroll bar because it makes it easy to get xbb for the raise I want...Post-flop, I tend to type the number in...if I'm not thinking, this will occassionally leave me like this. One more thing I need to improve about my game...Trons
