I take it the table is a little loose (from preflop).
With a bit more in preflop you reduce the implied odds for the trip - and with this loose table you stand a better chance of taking the blinds,
Once in at the flop. consider the range of hands he may have and call with.
1] QQ, (not good for you but not unwinnable). Two suited hearts (you dominate).. Knocks out trips hands that dominate you i.e your massively ahead half the time - hes massively ahead the other half.
2] AQ-I think he is marginally ahead here BUT the pot justifies it - also consider that your preflop represents AA/KK so there is a fold premium on this - he may put down..
3] Same for KQ,QJ. except he's more likely to fold
4]KK is ahead of you - but not by much (loose table - he'd have reraised...)
In summary it is a marginal push to defend your initial stake - but this isn't pot limit- its
No Limit. If you can't push your stack on marginal situations then you shouldnt be at the table.
Others might play it differently...
