I dont assume that he has 2 diamonds because I have 2 diamonds and the flop has two diamonds. Some of the more stat-conscious players here can tell you the probability of someone else holding 2 diamond cards when only 9 are left available, but I would say that its low. My reasoning is empirical, that is I rarely see flush over flush hands. It happens, but with relative infrequency.

I am assuming he haas Ax after he reraises me on the flop which is fine. I'm now playing for a flush draw and I have 13 to 1 pot odds when it comes back around to me to call. I bet out because I have the flush draw, but the image I want to project is that I have at least Ax or Kx so that weaker soooted hands are discouraged from playing. In their minds they have to think that someone has Axs or Kxs so they are going to play more conservatively.

Its purely an aggressive play designed not to build the pot, but rather to get information while I convey information that my hand is stronger than it is. After I call the re-raise, the table probably puts me on Kx since I didnt reraise indicating a pair of A that I want to value bet while discouraging callers (although I could not discourage callers because of the tremendous pot odds being offered if I reraised).

I have to check the turn because my pair of 5s is no where good here, but I have to like my flush draw chances. I have to call the raise because pot odds are now 9 to 1 and I have 3.6 to 1 odds to make 2 pair, trips, or a flush (14 outs discounted to 10 in the event of a bigger flush).

The river is a beaute, but not one worth betting in the event I've been getting humped by AK so I call.
