I understand your game should be somewhat looser when you are on the button or 1 off..But my question is, how loose is too loose?..
In your average 2/4 or 3/6 limit holdem game you have roughly 25% player's seeing the flop (sometimes more sometimes less)..So if you're sitting on the button with q/8 suited, and you're able to limp..is it worth playing?
The reason im asking this is to try and figure out if I have been playing too loose in late position..Are hands like j/9 suited, 3/4 suited, small pockets, and other's similar to that worth limping in with on the button, in a low limit holdem game, with a table averaging 25% player's to the flop?

hands like q8s are definitely -ev
theres a huge difference between j9s, 34s, and small pps. small pps are much much better than those other hands
some of "being looser on the button" is open raising more pots. its not so much limping with shit just because its the buttonit's better to be pissed off than pissed on

I play more hands from the button... but every hand I raise is when there are no or one limper to me and I feel my hand has a slight edge against the two players that have to call my raise. I raise with all these marginal hands, and I bet aggressively to try and win the pot without a showdown. I do it when the opportunity arises... not too often if the game is loose, but more often when it is tight.
If there are 7 limpers to you, you don't change your standards any. Play the same hands you would usually play, except you get the advantage of being in position after the flop.-You may not know this, but poker is a game of incomplete information.

Hands that you woudn't necessarily raise with, like Ax, KJ, KT, QJ, small and medium pocket pairs, and suited connectors, you might consider raising with if you are on the button and there have not been any raises and few limpers to act before you.
However, be prepared to get away from the hand quick or to bluff aggressively at the flop.
Playing a weak K, Q or J at any time is just asking for trouble.

correct. its not so much as how loose on the button, its how agressive. you just have a broader of hands that you can raise with, because hand strength increases on the button. for instance i would raise with 88 on the button if nobody has expressed any strength in the hand yet.
