you had to call really...not much beats you, no flushs and no straights on the board, unlikely anyone had AA or KK...

bottom set is still a set...i probably would have lost more
I love him who is ashamed when the dice fall in his favour and who then asks: Am I then a cheat? for he wants to perish.

Nobody is folding here, this player showed no strength until the river. Regardless of the outcome of the hand your $1.50 bet on the river with no flush/straight possiblities was a very weak play,

I was trying to make a value bet. What would you have done?

Bet 4-5$ but let my table timer run out so someone will think its a bluff.

Like I said regardless of the outcome of the hand your bet on the river was a weak bet. Being result oriented in poker is a bad thing.

    True.
Although honestly, I'm usually pretty weary of the guy who waits until his time is almost out and then makes a monster bet. That, to me, signals strength. It's the whole, weak means strong and strong means weak tell.

This is a online NL 25 table most of these players dont know the weak/strong and alot of them assume its a bluff with a overbet like that. You would be suprised to see what type of hands players call with when you do this.
