    Default 2 pair...scary board

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t20 (9 handed) converter

    UTG (t1730)
    UTG+1 (t1460)
    MP1 (t860)
    Hero (t1630)
    MP3 (t2300)
    CO (t1380)
    Button (t1160)
    SB (t1500)
    BB (t1480)

    Preflop: Hero is MP2 with , .
2 folds, MP1 calls t20, Hero calls t20, MP3 calls t20, CO calls t20, Button calls t20, SB completes, BB checks.

Table was fairly L/P, I figured I could get a limp here and see a cheap flop...as more limpers joined, I really liked my pot odds...

    Flop: (t140) , , (7 players)
SB checks, BB checks, MP1 checks, Hero bets t140, MP3 folds, CO calls t140, Button folds, SB folds, BB folds, MP1 folds.

Didn't like this board...Flush draw plus hands like 89 getting the str8 draw...combine that with some of the hands I had seen played, there could have been 45s out there also...I figured a Pot sized bet would A) chase the crap draws away, make calling for anybody with a draw, a serious mistake, and hopefully win the pot right there...

    Turn: (t420) (2 players)
Hero bets t160, CO calls t160.

Crap...Given the way this guy had been playing, he could have hit the flush...I bet a little low so I could get away from it if he played back at me...

    River: (t740) (2 players)
Hero checks, CO bets t140, Hero calls t140.

I'm not sure if this is a scared card or not...The fact that this guy called both my bets was making me think he may be slow playing something...I figured if he had something donkish like Ax, he would have played back at me on the flop...I figured a check here and if he came back at me with a half pot or better I could get away from the hand...his weak bet induced my call...but should I have? I was thinking that the pot odds were good enough and my stack would have been big enough if I lost to still be in the tournament...

    Final Pot: t1020

    Results in white below:
Hero has Ac 7c (two pair, aces and sevens).
CO has Ah Jh (one pair, aces).
    Outcome: Hero wins t1020.

Obviously my questions here are diverse...Mainly I'm looking at comments on my thought process, because if theres a mistake, that's where it's at...

I like your thinking. I like the bet on the turn - a even half way savy player will often bet when checked to with a flush on the board as a bluff. If you had let him do that you'd have no way of knowing where you stood.

I think you have to call that river, too. It may be a value bet, but the bet is so small that I think you are deffinately getting the odds to look him up.
I'm CDO. It's like OCD, but everying is in order just like it should be.

I agree with Girevik, I like the way the hand was played and had you shown weakness on the turn by checking to him, he would have put the pressure on you with a big bet.

Side note: I had him on A/10, looks like my reads are getting better.

I didn't look at the results yet, but when I bet pot-size with 2 pair on a semi coordinated board and get called I'm thinking two things.

    1) other guy has one pair
    2) open ender + flush draw

I find its usually #1. I like the turn bet, but I would have made it a bit bigger. If he hit the flush you are getting re-raised here because there is no value in the river bet for villian. If he didn't you get a call and thats your value bet.

Good check on the river-odds and the likelihood he had 1 pair makes it a clear call.

    Now I gotta look!

I like pushing with two weak two pair. If someone has an ace, get all the money in while you know you are ahead.
