Hi Guys,
I am playing a $110+10 NLHE live tourney tomorrow night organized by my friend's co-worker. Its been indicated to me that there will be few solid players there, but I will make my own assessment when I sit down.
Anyway, the structure is:
40 players, pays 6
$1,000 to start
Blinds:
1st hr: 10/20
2nd hr:25/50
then every 1/2 hr: 50/100, 100/200/25ante, 250/500/50, 500/1000/100, 1000/2000/200
next 1/2hr to end: 2000/4000/500
My initial sense is that I should be slightly more aggressive in the first two hours and look to build a cushion stack if I can so that as the blinds accelerate more rapidly after the 1st 2 hrs I can play tighter and catch people who are getting shortstacked forced to play weaker starting hands.
I usually play TAG, but I am not uncomfortable with playing LAG, particularly if I find that the competition is indeed soft.
For those of you who play more live tourneys I'd love your feedback.

You live in NJ according to your info. PM me with your location in NJ and I will get you invited to tourneys like this. This particular tourney happens 10x a year and this is my first invite to it. My brother-in-law also runs a similar tourney 3x a year so I usually have something poppin.
Also, check out this forum. I have NOT participated in any of these underground poker room events yet, but its good to know that they are there if I want to get in on a live game any day. They probably have a site for NJ too. I just googled NYC poker room and thats how I found this.
Have you ever thought of using the search feature? (j/k it was just a ball bust opportunity)
