    Default Chasing and passive games

I recently just started reading HPFAF so this might be a little premature but it mentions how in passive games it may be beneficial to stay in more hands like certian gutshots, etc. I was wondering as far as an overall EV if you're playing in passive games where betting is rarely capped (unless someone has QQ-AA) PF or flops a big hand... anyway is there a greater +EV if you chase more often than you probably would in an aggressive game?

I haven't really played in any aggressive limit games but the limits I'm playing now I usually tend to be the most aggressive post flop compared to the majority of the players at the table (which can cost me against calling stations). On the flip side the games are loose passive so there's alot of multiway pots even down to the river and people will call down if any card on the board matches a hole card. so alot of times even if I'm beat in a hand the betting rarely shows it, unless I'm up against the nuts. So I find if I'm being aggressive with overcards or TPGK/TPTK there's still hands I pay off when thay hit 2 pair with their 4,8o or bottom pair against my overcards.

I'm trying to determine if I'm leaving money on the table by folding weak draws or overcards post flop. I know I'm probably playing way tight for micro limits but getting aggressive to try and get people to fold dosen't usually work all that often either. So is it worth it to chase a little more often if it's usually just costing 1-2 bets max usually on every street?

One reason is that often times you have POT odds to chase some of these weak draws on the flop for 1 bet and in a passive game it is very likely you might get to see a free river after a flop bet so you are getting pretty good implied odds to chase. That's one possible explanation

    I would need more specifics.

I guess in limit there is a better chance of getting a free card, or at least only having to pay one bet. "Taking one off on the flop" could then allow you to collect some free bets.

In NL, I believe this is really the case. People wiill let you draw very cheaply, then pay you off when you hit.

Well I guess I'm considering looking at it as more of a pot odds thing, for example with half the table limping in on hands with as occasional raise it's not out of the question to be getting 10:1 alot of times on a flop especially if you're in late position and someone decides to bet from a blind.

So techincally wouldn't it usually be correct to call with a 4 outer which, can usually be almost anything. But on the other side will this affect my game if I decide to make loose passive calls a majority of the time because the odds happen to be there? Also would I really be gaining much of an edge as far as increasing the amount of $ made my playing like this?

I would say on average I can limp or raise from any position better than 60% of the time with just about any suited connector or anything over JTo and can usually be getting almost 10:1 on my $ or better going into the turn. Which would pretty much classify me as a fish by playing a large number of hands and probably being passive hoping to catch. However if the odds are there would it actually pay to play like that (not something I'm hoping to do just wondering)? Or would I be leaking more $ because chances are with a 4 outer I'd be folding the turn when I don't improve.
