I thought i was probably ahead but would get called by draws and any card other than an ace or a jack next and I wouldn't be happy, so I checked hoping to see an Ace or Jack. Next xard was a Q and I folded to a bet.
Next hand-

I bet pot and both opponents called,

I bet pot, both opponents folded. Given I still held the nuts on the turn and they are likely on a draw should I have bet maybe 2/3 the pot to attract callers or was I correct to bet pot?

hand 2: Do not slow down in Omaha. It's such a drawing game, betting anything less and you're handing them the odds to call w/ their flush draws. Capitalize when you can. Hell, slow down with quads and nut boats..but you have to avoid a club, and maybe even a K or A.

In my first example the pot was $1.50 (6BB) on flop, and I didn't think even if I put a pot sized bet out I would take it down, so felt it wasn't worth trying with a marginal hand.
On the turn the bet was potsized and I felt with a paired board and straight possible, I should need to catch a 9 to win for sure and an Ace or Jack to probably win, again I didn't feel the pot was big enough to fight over.

I don't think you should have slowed down with the QQs, maybe you bet less than the pot if you suspect other players at the table might be calling you down with weaker sets or two pairs.

I wouldn't play the first hand. It's junk, period. You'll save yourself a lot of frustration and money if you improve your starting hand requirements.
Second hand. I think you are fine here. You could bet 2/3rd pot and that whould give you the same results and save you some money. But in Omaha it is best to pound at pots especially when there are multiple draws on the board and you have a decent redraw.

In an unraised pot pre-flop I'll bet out with this type of hand since the pot is fairly small. The draws should fear the paired board and the only hand that will reraise is another 9 possibly 9T so that could help eliminate draws and let you know where you stand, you really don't want to go into check call mode with this type of hand.
Hand 2 you have to keep playing fast with all those draws out thereRead my musings on poker and life at Online Poker Examiner, Poker Examiner, PokerNewsBoy.com, and My Poker Blog
