what were you thinking on every street?

I would bet that he didnt think through each street. How do you not reraise AA preflop?

I'll be the first to admit I'm an amateur, and probably not a really good one at that. I've only been playing since Sept 05 so I haven't gotten a lot of experience. Excuses aside....
PF:
- I'm thinking I'm going to slow play my A's since I've been getting some good hands recently and making a lot of PF raises. I also think to myself "I'm going to lay these down if things get too ugly."
- Piklish bets and I think "if I raise here, it's going to look very suspicious. I want action so I'll just flat call his raise."
Flop:
- When he checks, I find this a little odd. Usually someone raising PF is going to put in a mandatory bet on the flop, especially one like this.
- I bet and he raises. I'm thinking trips. Jacks? Maybe 9s?...although honestly, I usually assume trips when I'm check-raised on the flop.
- I call in the hopes that I spike an A or maybe he checks to me again.
Turn:
- He bets and I still think trips. I fold.
After the hand I bug him, trying to guess what he has or get him to tell me. He claims he only had A/K but then he also said "i hope you enjoy tilting" or something like that, so who knows.

how the hell can you play like this? this makes me feel sad.
Raise this shit up preflop when that dude raises to $3. make it like $13-$15 to go.
Rest, I can't comment on b/c so pporly played.I get more ass than a toilet seat. All shapes/colors/sizes.

So the solution is to never slow play A's?
I guess when I get better at reading my opponent then it is something I can try?

1. You need to play a lower limit. This is above your head. Whats your bankroll?
2. You need to reraise this preflop. Id go with 3 times the raisers raise.
3. I'm still probably pushing the flop, but since we have no info on his hand from the preflop I really am making a loose statement here.
In ring you really need to protect your AA.Trons: "...be a winning person first."

I was playing the $0.25 tables up until 3-4 days ago. I moved up to the $1 tables and was doing really well at first but had a really bad day today (as outlined above. lol.) My bankroll was $550 at the start of the day but I'm down to $250 after today (see here for more details.)1. You need to play a lower limit. This is above your head. Whats your bankroll?
Would you have raised from UTG or would you have waited like I did and then re-raise when the BB raised it? If UTG, how much are you raising, 3xBB?2. You need to reraise this preflop. Id go with 3 times the raisers raise.Last edited by Mr.McJ; 01-19-2006 at 06:16 PM.

never slow play aces like this preflop.. i understand if u want to limp in UTG so that u can re-raise if someone raises to try to make more money.. but just flat out calling someones raise is never good... whenever u slow play aces like this preflop, implied odds will be against you (chances are u won't be able to lay it down if someone flops a set on you)..
on ur flop, u need to raise again.. he check-raises you to $13.. i 2nd raise him to $33..
with a $250 bankroll.. i think u need to stick with 5c/10c games for nowLast edited by Eclipse86; 01-19-2006 at 06:25 PM.
