AK is an ok hand at best. worthy of a small raise if your LP, but EP just call the blinds. its not reliable enough to risk alot of chips before you see what the flop will bring.

if you dont hit the flop, your not in good shape, so do not throw away more chips.

I disagree big time. AK is a hand you want to play against as few opponents as possible. I think you need to raise and try to get heads up - if you are able to accomplish this, you still stand a very good chance of winning the pot even if you don't improve, and if you DO hit and A or a K you have an excellent shot of having your opponent dominated.
I'm CDO. It's like OCD, but everying is in order just like it should be.

Supporting Gir on this one. I think you have it entirely backwards. EP raise to drive people out, LP raise if 1st or 2nd to act, limp with a lot of callers.

i've gotten burned alot from raising AK from EP. i do agree with your logic, but i just havent gotten lucky enough to scare people with my 3-4x BB raise.

i'd rather just call and hope to see a good flop, cuz then it'll be harder for people to put me on AK, thus being able to extract more chip post flop.

    apples and oranges IMO.

And when you let pp3 in for a KT3 flop and get raped how will you feel?

I was speaking in terms of limit, but NL too you have to raise Anna up, more so in NL because your whole chip stack is at stake every hand you play.

gonna have to agree that you gotta raise it, sometimes if the blinds are low and im in EP ill raise alittle extra 5-7x cause i want 1 or 2 people in the hand with me not 10, when u limp with it your are asking to get burnt by every other limper
If there wern't luck involed i guess id win everyone

Are you talking limit, or no-limit?

You have to be very disciplined with AK post-flop.

Give a couple of hand examples.
