Default So I'm playing the .05/.10 tables killing time

Waiting for the .1/.25 tables, I'm in the BB. See the flop and it turns out I have Top Pair, crap kicker so I bet half pot.

Button Calls. I'm sweethase btw.

Turn Comes Q. I bet half pot - he reraises me (minimum).

I fold. The I say this.

<< Result for Hand 271928250 >>
NSETS6 wins ($1.15 chips).
SWEETHASE:lol
SWEETHASE:loved the m inimum reraise
<< Result for Hand 271928705 >>
DJ_K_RAP wins ($2.10) with (One pair, tens(king kicker)).
NSETS6:well i didnt have anything so thats all iwantedto risk losin

And folks that about sums up..."I didn't have anything, so that's all I wanted to risk losing".LoL.

Actually, this is a good example of what my son brought up as I watched him playing SnG yesterday. He would put in a minium bet while on a draw for what I thought was kind of stupid and useless bet. Asked why he does that he pointed out he was trying to cut off a bigger bet by confusing the likley raiser!!! Damned if it doesn't work!! AND just as Digger did, sometimes he actually gets a fold from a better hand with what looks like a trap bet!!!

I had my doubts but watched him pull off this trick 4 or 5 times and it worked everytime but once. I'm adding it to my bag of tricks!!

You may want to make it a little bigger than a Min bet. Some players (like me) consider it to be the same as a check, and I punish you just the same.

That's exactly what I said to my son - "minium bet = check" - but I guess there aren't as many of you (Marm) or I that look at it that way! You've got to admit, it's worth a try next time you're on a draw and want to limit a raise.

I just read a great article in Cardplayer that I am glad I kinda read (Evelyn Ng cover) and it was by Roy West who mentioned bluffing at micro limits. It was something I always kept in the back of mind - and that is the fact that most players at these limits do not have the "poker intellect" to understand a bluff. Even for myself, I can almost guarantee if I reraised minimum again, he would have called. It's my own dumb mistake and it proves true - when you have a hand at these limits 1/2 pot bets are best.

I just thought the rest of you would find this quote a little funny, at 7:30 AM it's hard to find a table above .1/.25 going that isn't full as there are only mebbe 4-5 tables going (on AP)

Haha.Thought it was funny.
