Hey guys, I'm now playing 8 tables at Pokerstars at $50 buy-in NL hold'em. I've always played any suited ace on the button and SB and figured it was ok. Til I started analyzing my stats deeply in PT after I got it last month...
I've realized Axs has actually lost me a fair amount of money and in reality you only have a 15-1 shot to complete a flush by the river with a suited hand preflop and implied odds are rarely good with a flush draw...
So my question is, am I alone here? Have others found success playing Axs in full cash games (excluding $5 and $10 buy-in please).
Since we're on the subject, I was curious about the answer to this as well:
How many hands would you say it takes before you finally have reliable stats? The reason I'm asking is because some hands I'm negative with only because of a few bad beats. For example I'm negative with AA from first position because of three big bad beats.
Thanks as always guys!

Axs in 9 player cash games?

i usually dump AX in a full game. i might open w/ AT suited on the button if its been a fairly tight game (perhaps even A9, A8, depending on how agressive i should be playing), and ill see a flop with any ace from the sb. but typically, AX is a trouble hand.

I almost never play Ax with x being anything less than 10. AT and AJ I will rarely play on 3xBB+ raised pots unless I have position and/or they're suited. However, the converse to that rule is that I often will play suited Ax from the button, button-1 and SB - but I never play the ace alone, only the flush and two pairs. Then again, sometimes if it comes down the button or button-1 and I'm sitting there with an Ax, sometimes I'll attempt steal the blind which works about 2/3 of the time and brings plus value.
Of course, this is all subjective to my opponents fishiness.

I have a wekaness for Axs... I tend to play it from all positions.. but I should really be folding it more. I only play it for flush, two pair, and trips of the kicker. mainly for the flush though.

How does someone focus enough to play 8 tables? Or am I misinterpreting his post?

I will limp in late position with Ax 2-5, because you have straight potential as well as flush and two pair - and its easier to lay down to strong betting. I always dump Ax 6-9 unless its shorthanded, and even then it depends on the table.

At NL50 it's not hard.

Thanks for the answers guys, but I didn't get an answer to my second question:
How many hands generally does it take to have reliable stats in Poker Tracker?
The reason I ask this question is because some of the hands at first puzzled me because I'm negative with them, but when I dug a little deeper it turned out I was only negative because of a few really bad beats with those hands.
In other words, because of that finding I'm not sure if I'm playing correctly or incorrectly with those hands. Any advice is greatly appreciated!
