I wanted my hand to be perfectly disguised by not raising preflop, I mean I managed to get a lot of callers out of it and got a very good flop to help, there was a lot of betting I just wouldnt of got if I had of made my usual raise preflop.... Using the fundamental theorm of poker that everytime you play a hand the same way your opponent gains and everytime you dont you gain... was what I was trying to achieve here.

The trouble with not raising with AQs is that unless you are playing for flush potential, you want to play in a pot with a small number of players.
For example you let the guy with A6 come in cheap, and imagine if that flop was:
A 9 6
Your then thinking well AK would have raised I must have the best hand and your losing money to him.
I also think you should reraise all in on the turn if you think your ahead -he may have some sort of hand where he wants to see another card to improve his hand or the final card may scare him and prevent him paying you of on river.

Your Limp is a extremly weak play, I dont mind people limping in with monsters if you are confident the pot will be raised but your hand isnt considered a monster its a weak hand at this point because you played it weak.
You were lucky to flop the hand you did and get callers. Just wait when the flop is A/7/2 and you get beat by the Big Blind who has 7/2 because you limped in.

Another problem with not raising in that position with that hand is that you are giving everyone good pot odds. Which means that any pocket pair can turn into a set which beats you and any drawing hands get to play for cheap as well. Granted a straight was unlikely on that board (KJ I hope/think would raise preflop to protect his hand) and add in the fact that you have top two pair and a set is your only worry. And 90% of the time that I slow play two pair or a set on the flop I get burned because I gave the pot odds to make a draw worth calling. Anymore I think I am going to make a rule (for myself) to never slow play anything less than the nut flush. And even that I think I will just bet out if I think the fish to shark ratio is in my favor because the fishies love to call.

Forgive me for that, I'm just mad goofy today.
Your play is so bad here I want to hang myself. Dont even bother playing AQs in NL if you're going to call or check preflop.
THIS IS WRONG.THIS IS WRONG.THIS IS WRONG.THIS IS WRONG.THIS IS WRONG.THIS IS WRONG.THIS IS WRONG.THIS IS WRONG.THIS IS WRONG.THIS IS WRONG.THIS IS WRONG.THIS IS WRONG.THIS IS WRONG.THIS IS WRONG.THIS IS WRONG.THIS IS WRONG.THIS IS WRONG.THIS IS WRONG.THIS IS WRONG.
You must raise this hand. Get a caller or two. Hit that sick ass flop and check raise. Suck the tits off the guy. Make him pay.
I am not a percentages guy for what happens when you make a bad play, but I gotta Imagine that you have maybe a 25% chance for a good flop with AQs, its probably lower. With 5 players for the flop you've murdered your equity more often than not.
Sorry if this is brash, but its my duty to ensure that you never, ever play this hand like that again in NL.Trons: "...be a winning person first."

without results: preflop I should raise this to 3.5bb imo.
Flop is atrocious. Why? because you lead out with a weak bet when you should be protecting your hand. Secondly, your mistake is salvaged by a dude's raise! NOw you have an opportunity to throw in a massive bet here, instead you make an awful call.
You can't play so passive.I get more ass than a toilet seat. All shapes/colors/sizes.

extremely weak play here..
raise preflop.. bet flop, or check-raise flop..limping in with AQ is a bad play.. what if flop comes AQJ? and u let someone holding K 10 limp in.. what are u gonna do in that case?
u will get ur shit pushed in on the turn or the river when u play ur hand this weak and u end up not being able to lay it down when someone makes a straight/flush or trips on the turn.Last edited by Eclipse86; 01-12-2006 at 04:07 PM.

i very much agree with decoy, AQ is still a drawing hand, its not a huge pocket pair that has a better chance of holding up, remember if u dont hit on the flop, u have A-high, and u might have let someone with rags hit 2 pair, preflop aggression should be getting trash hands out of the pot, nobody likes losing their AQ to 7 2 cuz he got a free check in the BB and hit, if ppl are calling u with garbage, in the long run u will make more money than they will by hoping to get lucky, preflop aggression is a must, especially in a cash game, no one is gonna steal the blinds, especially if its $.10, and since u were UTG, ppl should be respecting ur raise

why are you bothering to disguse your hand at 1c/2c?
