    Default Was this played right?

I was putting him a flush draw due to his betting pattern. Now that I know what he had, I could have go more from him.

    PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.10 BB (6 handed) converter

    Hero ($18.15)
    UTG ($8.65)
    MP ($10)
    CO ($5.80)
    Button ($5.05)
    SB ($14.50)

Preflop: Hero is BB with , .
UTG raises to $0.2, 3 folds, SB calls $0.15, Hero calls $0.10.

    Flop: ($0.60) , , (3 players)
SB checks, Hero checks, UTG bets $0.2, SB calls $0.20, Hero calls $0.20.

    Turn: ($1.20) (3 players)
SB checks, Hero checks, UTG bets $0.5, SB folds, Hero raises to $1.5, UTG calls $1.

    River: ($4.20) (2 players)
Hero bets $2, UTG calls $2.

    Final Pot: $8.20

    Results in white below:
Hero has 8c 7d (straight, nine high).
UTG has Ah As (one pair, aces).
    Outcome: Hero wins $8.20.

I think you played it fine.... almost perfect in fact. Maybe a lsightly bigger bet on the river to get more ouot of him, but thats a balance between how much you wnat and how much he'll call. If he was on a busted flush draw, then he's not calling much, so I think you bet just the right amount to get hands like AJ to come along....

I do it in a heartbeat. Good live connectors, so what if they aren't suited. You're looking to flop a made hand or a good live draw, and its 6 handed. Anybody fold this, with 5-1 immediate odds, and pretty nice implied given their stacks, is way weak tight.

I agree with Marm - anywhere BUT the BB I fold this, but a min raise giving you 5-1 odds with medium connectors? With implied odds I think that's worth a call and trying to get lucky.

Implied odds are great to call that.

    Fold preflop.

    At least I would have.

I don't see why you would fold it. You are on the big blind and it's only .10 to see a cheap flop. If nothing hits on the flop, then I am out and running for the hills :P

That was my way of thinking.

It was his mistake to bet so low with pocket rockets. If he would have bet 3-4 times the BB, I would have been out, PF.

I'd call that hand PF with the minimum raise on a 6 hand table anyday, would probably fold it at a 10 seat table though if I were anywhere near EP. I think the play was just fine and the river bet was appropriate. He only called the bet that was about 1/3 pot size and that tells me he lost alot of confidence in his hand. I think you were at his threshold.

Only thing I may have done differently is put a feeler raise on the flop. You had a decent straight draw with position and that isn't a pretty board to anyone else not holding a jack, 87, 65, couple of diamonds, 55, 66 or an overpair - all strong hands that have good pot to them. I would have minimum raised to find out if he hit or not and to intentionally make it look like you had a solid flush draw; then when you miss on the river and appear to bluff a good bet you can take him down a good chunk. Just the way I play though.

All looks good to me and it would be very weak-tight to fold that flop.
