Default PLO/8 and the Pre-flop raise

What is a typical Pre-flop raise % for PLO/8. I have been playing Low limit ($25-$50 Max) being very aggressive. My Stats (based on the online software, no PTO) are around 15-20% for a preflop raise. Maybe it has been getting some good starting cards.

THhoughts? Would it work at higher stakes?

How many flops are you looking at?
15-20% preflop raise seems rather high and I'm surprised someone hasnt cleaned you out.

Works pretty good at these stakes. I see the flops about 35-45% including BB and SB

fairly loose you seem. I dont know 25-50 strat, but say you get A238 rainbow UTG, do you raise this pf?
Raising pf gives you odds to call flops. But if you are raising 20% pf and seeing 40% flops, than you are playing alot of poor hands imo.

Scotty, I've been doing some datatmining with PTO trying to create autorate rules for LLO8. Well, you got caught in my net... Your stats are a little maniacal.. Don't have them off hand, they are on the other computer, but I've got a bout 600-700 hands logged on you, and compared to the other winners at your level (you're about middle of the pack in WR), you stats a quite LAA'ish...

That said, I don't have a good answer for you.....
Marm is back, maybe. Been off for 3 years. Rusty as Hell.

The problem with raising PF in PLO8 is that you are forcing out alot of the hands that would would pay you off if you hit the flop.

If you raise with A2sXX then by raising alot people will fold their A3's and A4's and possibly their mid-high suited cards.

You'll end up winning more pots, but they'll be smaller on average.

I usually take the stance similar to PLO, to only raise in position or to build the pot. Obviously if I am on the button with 4-5 limpers with A23x I'll pop it up to 3 BB, but mainly to sweeten the pot.

I am still working on my PLO8 game playing mainly PLO8 50$ and 100$. My stats are alot tighter than yours playing about 22% of the hands and PFR about 6% of the time. I raise 2 or 3bb with scooping hands, I really feel trapping people with their non-nut hands is where the payoff is especially at low stakes.

shit, for some reason i thaught you were playing 25-50$ o8b (so 5k buy in). I gotta stop skimming the threads. In that case i think raise less and limp more. Also aim for low hands. I give more value to A24J than I do to AAJ9
