I mean, obviously I can play poker, and I'm feeling pretty confident in my game. But I'm curious if there is any unique things to be looking for in the tournament, like when is a good time to shift in to steal mode? Just how tight should you play in the beginning levels in the tournaments? My goal ultimately is to cash and then finish as high as I possibly can, so my thinking is to play tight and don't play stupid... thoughts?

I've qualified for a handful of the $200 and $600 buyins on Party and I've approached them with the same mindset. In each case I've lasted a few hours but failed to make the money.
If you are able to do it, then I would play your normal game (I'm not saying be loose), but be prepared to take the kind of risks you would normally take early in an MTT to build a stack. These events can be extraordinarily tight with it being folded all the way round in the first level so if you are able to ignore the stakes and play a normal game you should give yourself the best chance of making decent money. Of course you may go out in the first ive minutes, but I'm determined next time I get in one of these to not let the stakes alter my play.
And good cards to you mate

If you are at my table, sit out; you will have a better chance this way.

I play a few of these 200+ MTT on stars and PP and I can tell as Rex says, that they are really tight in the first 30-40 minutes.
So try to be a bit loosser agressive (not maniac) and try to pick up a few hundreds in that period. Then, play your normal game.
However, watch the players carefully, surprisingly, there is few idiots in those MTTs. Dont take useless risks agaist them. But as usual kill them with you killers!
I made the $$ in those 3 times but only a few spots after the bubbles.
I wish you better luck and the best cards!!!!

Maybe, but its always fun to play those big buy-ins MTTs, where you can dream to win 50K+ prize.

I wholeheartedly subscribe to the same optimistic philosophy

I disagree; however, this could be because my time is worth more.

If this is a joke, then it's funny.
