NL 800
150/300 3 players.
Me 4000, weak passive players 1800 & 2200+.
Me 4000 A7o button, I push. QJ calls and win.
Me shaken 2000+ A4o sb, I push. 33 calls and bust me.
Seems like I gave oppotunities for short stakes to coin flip. Dropping from 1st place to bust is a crime. Am I playing the best strategy? Too aggressive?

waaaaaaaaaaay to aggressive. seriously, why bother trying to take peoples chips when you are not in harms way? blinds mean nothing to you at this point.
just because your chip leader, doesnt mean play crappy hands.
the short stacks have no other choice than to gamble with mediocre hands,(they are running out of time, unlike you) so why risk giving them a chance at winning huge pot at your expense when you only have a mediocre hand at best?
lots of people say that when you get down to 4, or 3 handed, then you should loosen up. i dont agree with that unless you are the short stack.

I'm afriad he's 100% correct. not wise to bully with mediocre hands against short stacked players in Tourneys, not wise at all.

A7o and A4o are pretty piss poor hands to push with, raising blinds for a steal ok, but why when your cl?
That said, I can be ultra aggressive when its down to three players, I bully a lot, and I will raise with anything if I'm the short stack.A good education is expensive but ignorance costs more.

Thanks. How would you play A7o?
a)Raise 3bb 900, if lose this hand, your stake will be roughly equal with the opponent.
b)Limp.
c)Fold, wait for short stakes to bust each other, go for HU.
Another question, if 150/300 HU, me 4000, opponent 4000, is A7o a pushing hand?

gotta agree with Beavis here,
It is down to 3 handed, you are the chip leader you need to push people around he still only has about 13 bbs. Both pushes are fine IMO.
If you raise to 900 and you get re-raised all in you still have to call so pushing is better. Its better to make the short stacks make a tough decision.
I would have done the exact same thing.

Never really understood...
I think this is a point I've NEVER undrestood. I'd like to think i'm a TA player but I read everywhere Aggressivness is the key and all that. But to push with Axo?? (atleast that's what it seems like when you seem to be encouraging a7o and a4o?!) Is that REALLY the way to play?
I mean I would think to defiantely raise a significant amount maybe even re-raise a shitty raise since i'm CL and I have some weight. But to push pre-flop? Why jeapordize your stack THAT much?
The point I'm trying to make, is that I never seem to understand exactly HOW aggressive is proper aggressive play!? Brunson seems to just love to "gamble" and maybe that's what it takes but I definatley can't see pushing so much with these hands, I dunno just my thoughts.
