I am not saying I am correct to play this way but if my opinion is worth anything.......
I would make a minimum reraise preflop to find out where I stand. What cards do you think he is likely to make this raise with originally - could probably be AK-AJ, 88+, maybe lower requirements? I would expect him to reraise all in with Kings or Aces, possibly even Queens if he's loose.
I am then happy to fold believing I'm most likely beaten or at best facing 2 overcards. (Why risk it when I still have 2000 chips, which is above average stack left and the BB is still omnly 30?).
If he flat calls and no overcard hits I will be happy to go all in on flop. If an overcard hits probably bet out 1/2 - 2/3 pot and fold to any raise.

i fold this preflop..
early tourney, your off to a good start, big blind is still small, relative to the stacks.. why waste 1/6 of ur stack preflop with pair jacks... that raise is way too huge, and calling it will get u pot commited, so its just not worth it imo... just wait for a better spot to get ur chips in the potLast edited by Eclipse86; 12-31-2005 at 09:43 AM.

450 raise has me suspicious with such low blinds, I think I'm folding here.

The guy is entering 57% of the hands, and raising a quarter of those..... then post flop, hes betting every flop.... I'm pretty sure hes got looser standards thatn that....

So what do you think about what I said Marm?
Just because he would raise with less than premium hands he is as likely to get QQ-AA as anyone else. Would you not allow yourself any escape route at any point?

I don't like the Preflop reraise, because with him, it accomplishes nothing, he'll raise/call with JTo here as likely as AQ. The only thing I'll learn is that he really likes his hand, but that doesn't mean anything, since JJ is about middle of the pack of his possible all-in hands.
Same with the flop, I gotta play the odds I think he has, and I think JJ is ahead here. He would make the same play with A9o or JTo or AA on the flop here.....Marm is back, maybe. Been off for 3 years. Rusty as Hell.
