His pot size bet certainly looks like he wanted to cut odds down to 2:1 to starve off a flush draw as well as being an attempt to win the pot right there. If he had a set, he could have re-raise you on the flop instead of just calling and peeling off the turn card. Turn looks like a blank - if I had a set and you checked into me, I think I'd go for just half a pot raise both to cut off the draw odds but still good enough odds to keep you in the hand for another pull on the river.

I think he has Ax - with x being mid-size or maybe even a 4. Did you ever find out?

What's missing here is what this guy's image of you is. Does he think you are a straightforward player betting your hand? Have you pulled off or attempted a few bluffs? semi-bluffs? If he puts you on a flush draw, he could really have a large range of hands. If he thinks you are betting top pair, then I think he has two pair or a set of 6s.

It's hard to say really. I'm folding here if I have a tight table image because I would believe his strength. If I've been consistently raising flush draws and suspect that's what he has put me on, it may be a different story.

With no raise before the flop, both players should be wary of the range of hands we could both have. Your raise on the flop bet is the only information. It's a tough spot.

I would say that he's holding a set of sixes. And I don't that I'm wrong here.

no, i never found out what he had.. didnt bother to ask..
my guess is that he has A6 (2pair), or A10 or possibly my hand.. looking back, i think he would have raised preflop with the AJ as he was like 2 or 3 away from the button.

i think if he held anything less, he would not have bet out the potsize again on the turn, right after i check-raised him on flop..
cuz most people holding A2-A5.. A7-A8 would have folded to my flop raise right? i didnt have any good reads on him yet as to what playing style he was, so i just assumed he was tight aggressive, and most tight aggressive players dont play A2-A5.. nonetheless im almost positive that if he was holding A2-A5, he would have folded to my flop raise..
so basically the only hands i beat here are A7 and A8.. but would this guy have bet so strongly on the turn with A7 or A8 right after i check-raised him on the flop for over 4x his bet? probably not right?

so at that point i read him for A 10 or 2 pair.. thus folding my hand

also my table image there was pretty tight aggressive, i didnt pull any bluffs at all.. didnt semi-bluff either (raising with flush draws etc).. and everytime i check-raised someone on the flop and it was taken down to showdown, i had the goods.
