i don't like giving up 1/3 of my stack when an Ace or King hits. I think if someone will call this much with KT they would call an all in.

Don't like it. iI'm raising this to about 500 here though. I'm taking Bonch's line of thinking here, that a smart player is only playing hands that will beat us here. So when he pushes, I know I can lay this down If I want. I always assume until proven otherwise, that a player knows what they are doing and can play on my level. Now in these SNG's, this assumption is usually shatered by the end of the first round, but I on't like ot undersestimate anybody.

Most likely he will call a 5x or so raise, then we can play the flop, and QQ is pretty flop dependant. If he pushges to this raise, well, then its upto you if you are playing or not.

i think the stakes should be relevant. At low buy ins, pushing here, theres a big chance your gunna get the call from the 5bb raise. So if you want the call push. Although i dont like pushing my life in like this, i wouldnt mind it with QQ.

still a little too agro though.

What do you mean? We do. Unless I'm losing my mind.

Nobody likes giving up 1/3 of their stack, but it's better than giving up all of your stack. Gotta mix survival into trying to stack opposing players at some point, and I think QQ early on in the SNG (when there's still maniacs on the loose) is the "inflection point" between all in PF hands (AA KK) and "hit a monster on the flop" hands like AK, AQ, PP JJ-22 (for set value).

As the blinds move up and thus the starting pots become larger, QQ moves over into an all in PF hand for me.

To everyone who's so afraid of pushing here, do you guys actually play SNG's? "Smart" players?? There's always a couple, but it's so easy to get calls from maniacs there's no need to worry about "just picking up the pot" most of the time this early in a SNG. It does happen, but it's pretty darn rare.

Thats my point Jason. I will double up enough that moving in is highly profitable. Also, I'm not too ticked when I pick up 130 chips for free if they all bail, its almost a 10% stack increase.

If I double up in a sit and go I am virtually guaranteed of moneying, so to me a calculated risk early on is well worth the reward.
