I dont like that play, because there were like 5 people in the hand. Any one of them could have been slowplaying a big pair or a set. At the same time, an all-in might attract people with second pair thinking that you wouldn't go all in with top pair.
Generally when you make a play like this you have to be certain no one else has a hand, otherwise you are gone. Because they shouldn't call you if they dont have anything, and if they do have something, chances are you lose.

Not pretty. If I was really desperate and had a supertight image I might possibly push preflop and look to pick up the pot there and then using multiple limper theory, but 90% of the time it's a preflop fold. Your push was pretty much suicide and you got lucky.
Edit: sorry just noticed you were SB, so I'd call but check it down or fold when I missed connecting big with the flop.
