    Default Two pair w/ flush

Down to three in the local tournament. The players tend to be agressive, but are smart players. I'm the short-stack, A is the middle stack, and B is the chip leader. I get in the BB. Player A folds, while B just calls.

The flop is . I'm thinking that the smooth limp in could have been a high drawing hand such as JTs, or he could have slow-played AA. The slow-play of Aces IS a tactic that has been used by Player B, even in the late stages of the tourney. I bet pot-size. He flat calls again.

The turn is . I bet the pot again, but this time he raises all-in. At the start of this hand, I had 2300 in chips. The blinds were 100/200. At this point, I'm at 1700 in chips. Any 5 beats, also the dreaded flush, and even AA, that he could be holding. At this point, I fold. I'm thinking that he hit the flush, because of his flat call PF. I kept replaying this hand in my head. I think folding was the right option, but then I thought to myself, "What if this guy called with 4 to the flush?" He did have twice the stack of me, so it might be a possibility.

Basically, what do you guys think? LOL.

Fold. You're in bad shape and you still have a shot at second.

Anyone can slowplay AA. I really don't like that you said that so much. He was clearly calling on the flop because he knows that you made a bet out of position. He wants action from you on the turn. He's not looking to bluff you. A good card hit for him if he has a flush. It was a card that he was waiting for and that's for sure.

Maybe, he'd slowplay the Aces, but 77? 55? A5? any two hearts? These are all hands that would be good for him to smooth call on the flop and fire on the turn.

Get aggressive preflop from here on out, playing move in or fold.

You left out really important information, although it's not that important in the context of this hand. When considering whether to fold or call in a tourney, you have to really think about the prize structure payout. Either way, this is a good fold here, what I do want to comment on is that I think you should have raised the pot preflop pretty substantially with that ace.

Yea, looking back on it, I should have raised PF. However, if he did have a good hand and called, I would have been in trouble on the flop. I would have lost more money, especially, because I would be thinking in my head that he wouldn'y call a large bet PF with just a drawing hand. If he did, I would not be in good shape on the flop, with now way of possibly knowing he is on a draw until after I bet. Thanks for the replies.

3-handed and short stacked, you should have been all-in PF.

I think there is a really good chance you got out played here.

I kinda agree with beav here. Depends on HOW short stacked you were. If you had a healthy stack vs the blinds, but were the smallest by a bit, All-in on the flop. Even if he does have the flush, you got outs, and with the board pairing, your hand got even stronger, because maybe he thinks his good ace (for ACes & fives) is good.

If you got a tiny stack, I like all-in preflop.
Marm is back, maybe. Been off for 3 years. Rusty as Hell.

What possible "good hand" could he have called with that you would be in trouble with? KhQh is about it. The odds of him holding 77 or 55 are very remote.

I really think this guy was bluffing you with the Kh.

I do definitely agree that with being all in preflop. Odds are you're finishing 3rd anyway and losing 3 BB's every 6 hands means you're probably not gonna get any better than this until you're at half of your current stack which, if you win, you're where you are right now and you're back where you started.

Oh sorry, LOL. I doubled up once after that hand, but got knocked out in third on a set over set.
