    Default 6 Seat NL SNG's

I've been at a loss trying to figure out the optimum strategy of winning these. I've played the majority of these on UB and have done well and have had a hell of a time even cashing on Stars in the 6 seaters, and am almost guarenteed to do well on Pacific (hell, I made 400 one Saturday night just playing 30 dollar 5 and 6 seaters). What's the best way to play these? I trust my instincts obviously with my hands, but how much must you let the range of playability in your hands go? And how much does the gap concept come into play short handed?

hit me up on UB if you play low stakes and we can play my name is gder03.
6 max, you should play tight. ppl say "oh its short handed loosen up", true, but not to the point of stupidity.

Ill usually raise 22-AA, KJ-KQ, AT-AK 3.5bb preflop. But imo the flop play is vary crucial compared to the rest. Im looking for a few well timed bluffs. Aswell as getting payed of on my good hands. I dont really slow play much, maybe a high set, or K or Ahigh flush. Also hands with several opponents are vary dangerous.

Post some hand histories here. Mainly of: hands that you lost alot of chips on, and hands that were good (AK-AQ, AA-JJ) that you ended up loseing with. This way they can be evaluated.
I get more ass than a toilet seat. All shapes/colors/sizes.

Longball, do you find yourself calling a lot preflop or raising?

In 6 seaters I've found it much more profitable to be the aggressor, being there is even less of a chance someone has hit a hand. Know when to back off, but you can take a lot of pots down with pure aggression.

Also, I think you shouldn't bother trying to take too many pots when blinds are still 10/20. Play tight until they get up to the 50-100 range, and that's when you can start stealing preflop.

    P.S.- You're a homo

back to OP. shorthanded like 3way vary little gap concept for me. I will call people with shitty hands like 78suited A2 off....

Heads up no gap concept at all b/c im never calling. IM raiseing, reraiseing or floding.

I don't think there is an optimum strategy. You have to adjust your play to the opponents. And opponents will obviously vary from table to table. Loose tables and you have to wait for good cards. Tight tables and you can steal. Passive tables, be the aggressor.

In general, I try never to limp in. If I'm have cards I'm willing to play, I raise. I also reraise a lot PF. And one other thing. Since there are so few people, your tendencies get noticed more. Thus, I make different plays in similar situations. Sometimes, I'll bet out with TP and sometimes check/call and sometimes checkraise. Sometimes I bet flush and straight draws, sometimes I check.

If you are perceived as a moving target that is hard to predict, the other players will tend to bash on each other and steer clear of you. This is good for stealing and bluffing.
