This is the 1st time I've ever tried to use Bisons, so I hope I got it right......
It's only about 4 hands in and this is the 1st I've played. My read is that he has TPGK. I dont see any legitimate draws out there although its possible he hit a set and is slow playing me. I kept hammering away, and I wonder at what point I should have put the breaks on? I bounced back, but went out in 4th when this same clown rivered me for the 4th time in the tourney

your opponent was weak tight, but then again it is the 1st hand in a STT.
I fold your hand on the turn though, I'm not going broke with a pair of tens here.

i would check pre flop (out of position with marginal hand)
i would play flop the same.
turn i prob bet between 150-240.
river i prob bet 1/2 pot.
i dont like a situation like this, because you have no idea if you are ahead or not as he is playing so passivley.
if you check the river he may take the pot away from you, so you may as well bet 1st. as it is the 1st level you have no indication of what he will do if you check the river, i think that 1/2 pot bet may stop him making a big bet which you have to agonise over whether to call and gives you more if you are ahead

I haven't read results yet, but I'm assuming he had something shitty like KdQd? Or something? Either way I check that river.

Your bets are quite large. On the flop, you bet 80 into a 50 pot. This is an overbet and he calls. That's pretty worrisome right there. It is odd for him to call and not raise. You are dealing with an idiot or a pro. Plus, his call doesn't give you any information. I would have checked the turn. If he bets a reasonable amount you can raise and then see where you are at in the hand.
And the bet on the river is not so good either. I can't figure out if it's a value bet or not. Sure he got lucky with his river card but I believe you overplayed your pair of tens especially so early in the tourney.

First hand of a SNG, I check PF, check on the flop, and fold to any bet. If I get a free card and hit another ten or an ace, then I bet.
This is one of those "win a small pot most of the time, lose a big one every now and again" situations that will kill you long term in SNG's. One mistake like this may well cost you the whole thing.
If you are intent on playing this pot, don't bet the river. Don't bet medium strength hands at the river. You're only going to get a call if you're beat (surprised he didn't raise here, but he's obviously a fish).

The SnGs I play in you are more likely to double up through 99 or JT than lose a big pot.
