LOVE IT! And play these preflop if you can cheap: Different Tourny style: Limp and Go. (my oft linked thread) My VPIP in MTT's is usually around 35%, so playing 9Ts and 64s are good ideas IMHO if you can get in cheaply (<5% of your stack, preferably <2%), Not ust any crap, but hands that are well associated with each other and are usually very live. 64s is an exceelent hand to see cheap and either lose a small pot or win a huge one.......

I generally subscribe to your theory Marm, but on the 64 hand, he could have easily busted right there. If like Aces said a
comes, he could fold the river, but he still lost a sizeable pot. It worked out for him which is good, and I think that comes into play with the strategy. You MUST get lucky early on with these hands.

Yes, with the fourth heart, he would have had to slow down... but the same would have happened if he had JTs and the baord had 4 hearts, he would have had to release it.....

Love the play on both of them. You're a huge favorite when you hit the flush with the 64, so I don't mind you playing it so aggressively. Just cross your fingers that you're not up against a higher flush.
On the river, definitely going to get every cent out of this hand. If a fourth heart comes up, I've got a tough decision to make.

The SF hand... the only danger is if he's holding a higher heart.
There are 7 hearts in the deck (he holds 1, remember?) and only 5 of them win it for him. If I think my opponent is drawing to 5 outs, I'm going to do my best to get him to give me all his money. If he hits, fine... I'm doing WAY better on that hand then if I had AA, and I guarentee all of you would have been that agressive with AA if you were sure your opponent didn't have a made flush.
The last issue... if I'm the chip leader in a tourney I'm looking to play as many pots as possible while it's still very cheap, since the chip lead here means nothing, but the opportunity to collect huge pots that get me closer to having an average stack at the final table is golden. I only think it's a poor idea when you play poorly with medium strenght holdings. The T9 hand is an example... losing a lot of chips with that kind of hand is what makes the usual fishy early chip leaders go broke. I'll play aggressively in those kind of spots... but I know it's dangerous, why I asked for advice on that hand.Last edited by PJ of TheGame; 11-28-2005 at 09:53 PM.
