    Default Am I a Chaser?

    PokerStars 0.25/0.50 Hold'em (9 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is SB with , .
UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, MP1 calls, 4 folds, Hero completes, BB checks.

Normally I wouldn't enter a pot with a hand like this but I figured since I was SB there were enough people in the pot to give me pretty good odds.

    Flop: (5 SB) , , (5 players)
Hero checks, BB checks, UTG checks, UTG+1 bets, MP1 folds, Hero calls, BB folds, UTG calls.

I'm thinking I should have check/raised this hand here. With an overcard and the nut flush draw, I figured my hand had fairly good odds to becoming the winning hand. When the bet got around to me, I had to think for a few seconds. I came to the conclusion that I probably would prefer overcalls to isolating the original bettor. I expected BB to call because he had called down with some awful hands.

I also didn't like the idea of check raising because if I didn't hit the flush on the turn, I wouldn't have been sure if I should have bet or checked. Checking, after the check/raise would have looked seriously weak and announced very loudly that I was looking for the flush. On the other hand, check/raising would have built the pot so if I hit the flush I win a bigger pot...

    Turn: (4 BB) (3 players)
Hero checks, UTG checks, UTG+1 bets, Hero calls, UTG calls.

At this point, I wasn't sure if I was chasing or not. Pot odds were marginal, but I figured if I included implied odds (can I do that in this situation?) Then I had the odds for the call.

    River: (7 BB) (3 players)
Hero bets, UTG calls, UTG+1 folds.

UTG+1 had been playing fairly well, I could guess that he had put me on the flush draw so a check here would probably end up in a check all the way around.

    Final Pot: 9 BB

    Results in white below:
Hero has 6s As (flush, ace high).
UTG has 5s 3s (flush, jack high).
    Outcome: Hero wins 9 BB.

My main questions with this hand was should I have played this from the SB for the flush, should I have check/raised the flop and should I have called the turn? If it was a decent call PF, could I have gotten more money into the middle of the table with the best hand?

    preflop calll is standard

bet flop - ace high may even be good here, plus you want a decent amount of money coming in from a lot of peopel so when you do hit your draw it will payoff huge

    turn good

checkraise river unless you know that the guy will not value bet

Sure you chased a little but if they put you on a flush draw they should've raised big than you should've folded. IMO calling the min. bet wasn't too bad and paid off in the end.

It was limit, they couldn't control how much they bet. One of the nice things about limit is that if you decide to chase, you have a pretty good idea how much it's going to cost you.

    bboy:

I wasn't sure the UTG+1 was going to value bet. I wouldn't have in that situation because I would have put at least one of the callers on the flush draw. Given how tight I was playing...and how agressive I was when I hit a hand (I had played about 50 hands at this table at this time, and I was a fit or fold type player). My calls had to scream flush draw. That's one of the reasons I had debated on the flop about whether to check/raise or not. This one of the very few hands where I hadn't been the aggressor. That had to make him think...if he was paying attention.

i dont know why people are saying you are a suckout.... you hit your flush draw lol

the river play is fine i think because he could also have a boat and getting 3bet would suck
