    Default side pot question

here is a hand where i was unsure whether to value bet into a small side pot, or make a cooperation play to eliminate an opponent.

also any general advice for this situation would be appreciated.

Ultimate Bet No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t60 (6 handed) converter

    MP (t1630)
    CO (t3845)
    Hero (t1720)
    SB (t5020)
    BB (t2575)
    UTG (t210)

Preflop: Hero is Button with , .
1 fold, CO calls t60, Hero raises to t300, 2 folds, UTG calls t210 (All-In), CO calls t240.

    Flop: (t900) , , (3 players, 1 all-in)
    CO checks, Hero checks.

    Turn: (t900) (3 players, 1 all-in)
    CO checks, Hero checks.

    River: (t900) (3 players, 1 all-in)
    CO checks, Hero checks.

    Final Pot: t900

    results below in white
Main Pot: t720 (t720), between CO, Hero and UTG.
Pot 2: t180 (t180), between CO and Hero..

I would generally just check that down.

i cant see him calling a river bet and mucking on that board. there is no need to eliminate the guy though. you are playing for yourself.

pf though i would limp behind. i dont like raising so much with just 99

i think u played it perfect pre and post flop. no need to bet into the pot on riv b/c hes only gunna call/raise with a hand that beats you.

This is a medium strength hand at best. Don't bet medium strength hands on the river. You'll only get called by a better hand most of the time.

Just check it down, and hope your 9's are good enough to take it.
